Hi XF, WHat about converting the telephone wall socket to LAN socket on the wall sharing between living room and bedroom 3. And connect router as AP. Will it improve the speed?
As per pic, i got a pair of XD6 and a AC68u. Would like to upgrade AC68U to something feasible for my setup so that i can use that pair of XD6 as nodes instead of main router.
Wifi at lower floor is fine (300 to 500 mbps), except for upper level the coverage is not so good sometimes. I am using ethernet backhaul the Aimesh.
Any advise on what to upgrade?

I hv indicated the 3 Lyra mesh in the below link photo. Lyra 3 basically is just for my gal's PC which do not hv a wifi adaptor and not for improve eifi coverage purpose actually.
Yes ONT is with the main router. I laid the network point during my reno thinking if the wifi unable to cover i still hv smthing to rely on
Why i am thinking of the 2gbps plan is because the sum paid for the 24 mths contract period is not too much of a difference. 1gbps with GT AX6000 is $36.50 + $13.12 (router) x 24 mths = $1190.88 whereas 2gbps with same AX6000 is $53 (include router& still get a tplink ax72.) x 24 mths = $1272.00. Difference is (1272 - 1190.88) = $81.12 over 24 mths.
But i m not too sure what benefits and how much does this 2gbps with AX6000 will improve on the internet speed. My gal complaint to me that at times she is unable to play her Roblox in certain area (not fix) of the house which i am not sure why? But using for streaming or net browsing is ok.
If say i use the GT AX6000 as main router in the living hall and AC2900 in my master room as mesh and Lyra 2 & 3 remain as it is. Will i be not getting the wifi 6 type of speed or connection? Wifi 6 mix wif wifi 5 is there any disadvantages? Sorry i am a noob in this.

You would have to use the same brand (i.e. Asus) to form a mesh. I assume your AX55 is the Asus one. If you use a different brand, you can still configure using the same wireless SSID and password. However, it would not be a mesh. In my HDB 4 rm layout, my Asus GT-AX6000 is the main router connected to the ONT in the living room, all bedrooms have ethernet LAN ports. Another Asus TUF-AX3000 is connect to the MBR LAN to form AiMesh with ethernet backhual. Sorry for not stating it clearly, yes my current ax 55 is from Asus. That's why I was thinking if I should either get a high power router and forgo the router in the master room or should I get another asus AX 55/ax3000p to form a mesh.
