Please note that TP-Links onemesh does not work with router to router. Only onemesh compatible routers to onemesh compatible extenders. TP-Link is working on another mesh standard called Easymesh, where compatible Easymesh routers works with TP-Link's own list of Easymesh compatible routers or other vendors. Currently there are only few TP-Link routers that are Easymesh compatible e.g AX55.Can i ask for a 3 bedroom unit, is it better to have 1 AX6000 in the living room or to have AX72 in living room then i use my lan point in the room to also set up another AX72 for good coverage via AP mode? Been reading about aimesh mode, is this possible with these routers?
i dont need the super good connection as i do light gaming/surfing net mostly… the other 2 rooms also used by my younger children, no need to be top notch connection. I assume the living room router can reach their rooms and the kitchen…
actually i have lan points in all the rooms..
The list of Easymesh compatible routers are https://www.tp-link.com/us/easymesh/product-list/ or https://www.tp-link.com/sg/easymesh/product-list/
Note that many of the routers are in Planned list, and they have been since for many many months...
So you will not have True mesh, with 2 AX72 routers. The second router will be in AP Mode. You can name the SSID same as the main router but you may at times encounter issues with devices when they are in the range.
