Hello bros, I am now using Aztech DSL7002GRV but my PC is located in my room which is about 30m away from the router. Hence, I need to depend on powerline for connection but the connection is crap. I am subscribing a 300mb/s plan but only get 15mb/s most of the time. Here are my qns:

1. Do you tink I shd buy the ASUS RT-AC68U? which I am afraid give me crap performance again its v ex router.

2. What is the diff between AC router and non AC?

3. How I know whether my PC wireless can Support AC router?

4. Lastly, if any1 here has RT-AC68U can let me try LOL, I pay u rental fee plus give u my NRIC? LOL

Thanks broz !!!

1. I do not think it can help as your house is too big.

2. AC faster but shorter distance.

3. Look at the Adaptor model then search online. Most PC no AC.

4. No need to try as 30M is really quite far and will not be useful.

Better get ST to come down to take a look and let the site engineers do the recommendation to you.

Hi,

I need some help, am using Singnet fibre now.

Current setup is:
My ONT and Aztech 7002 are located at the living room. Reason being is I need a home telephone to be station down there.
From there, there is a very long cable connect to my mio tv box which is in my room.
My devices such as iPhone, iPad, MBP, Apple TV are connecting to Aztech 7002 by wireless.

But now I need to include a Apple Airport Express in my room as I need the airplay function to connect my devices to the speaker wirelessly.

As I only have a super long cat5 cable, therefore I can only use the cable to connect to the Airport Express and from there another short cable to connect to mio tv.
My others devices can connect to the Airport Express by wireless.

Am I able to do that?
Does Airport express support IPTV?
Cuz I afraid that my mio tv will not work if I do not connect directly to Aztech 7002 but instead connect it to the airport express.

If it is possible, what settings to i need to setup?

Thanks for help in adv!

Any help? :D:D:D

If the only reason why your aztech is I'm your living room is to plug in the phone, call Singtel to ask them to change the setup so that the phone plugs into your ont instead. Then you can put your aztech in your room

Just got the new DSL7002GRV yesterday from upgrade to 200mbps fibre plan. Before the upgrade, I am using Asus RT-N66U router.
Of these two routers, which one is better to use as router, DSL7002GRV or RT-N66U ?
Thanks,
ks

Every Aztech router has a different default password so do not need to change password. No worry at all.

You can try Aztech and do some test to see how is it.

you need to define cui.

singtel usually will tell you beforehand the maximum reality throughput is how much, that is 70mbps (300mbps theoretical speed).

Therefore to achieve the full speed, you need to check your wireless environment and whether your wireless client is capable of supporting the theoretical speed of 300mbps.

usually mobile devices do not support MIMO. note 3 is one of these (1x1 only).

(300/4 = 75mbps, about 30mbps in reality)

currently from what i understand, iPad air and iPad mini retina display are MIMO devices supporting ac also.

got my 200mbps installed 2 weeks back

All my mobile devices including iphone5s and xperia z2 tablet can only connect up to ard 60mpbs via the 5ghz.
And above from renfred explained why my ipad mini retina can connect up to 100mbps easily

Now issue is with my lenovo y580 laptop which is deep in the master bed room It can only detect 2.4ghz wlan 2 or 3 bars due to default wireless card and can connect only up to 20mbps, so i bought a huawei wifi extender and a cheapo usb wifi dual band adapter, managed to get my laptop to connect 5ghz and up to 60mbps

so that will be the max speed i can get hold now? until i get AC router and AC wireless card adapter for my laptop?

Yes. 7002 max is only 70mbps.. wireless ac or not doesnt matter cos 7002 doesn't suppprt ac..

Interested to know about this as well, thinking of getting the N66u as an upgrade to the 7002.

Already port forwarded but when I go check at CanYouSeeMe.org it says port is still closed. I need to open port 28015 & 28016. Any gurus can help solve my port forwarding problems? Been troubleshooting since yesterday but no luck.

And to add, only the FG7003GRV(AC) support AC.
ADSL - FG7003

The 7002 is a dual band WiFi only.

Both 7003 and 7002 are dualband wifi but 7002 is N router and 7003 is AC router. AC can support up to 250Mbps for 7003 and 110Mbps for 7002. I am using 7003 AC router and it do have so known issue so Aztech is working on it. Temporary no stock so must wait for stock to arrive.

No la, N66u is also a N router just like 7002 so it is same N standard and no upgrade at all. For ASUS router, it is v straight forward and the model already tell everyone that it is a N router. At least a AC68U then is an upgrade. If you read and do research online carefully, you will notice that Aztech FG7002 actually has better performance than N66

SingTel Router?

It might not be the Router side that is blocking the ports.

Try windows firewall Advance Settings - go to the Inbound and Outbound Rules - create new rules on Port - TCP or UDP - input the port number or range.

The WIFI signal strength (2.4 GHz) of my DSL7002GRV suddenly dropped a lot since yesterday and now devices in the bedrooms have problem connecting to it. The 5 GHz band is fine though. Rebooting the router doesn't help. The router is at the living room.
anyone has the same experience? Is this a hardware issue? Tks.

Edit: Solved. Singnet sent a tech to check. Replaced the router. Very efficient. Called at 9.15 am, tech came at 11.40 am.
