if just gaming, either will perform about the same. see which combo less expensive with appropriate memory: u can get away with slower cheaper 5200c40 ddr5 for intel, but amd side need fast tight ram (preferably 6000c30) which costs more. 7600 consumes quite a bit less power though and comes with a box cooler, so u can skimp on the cooler if u want.

i would have suggested going for a tecware fusion with a way cheaper matx mobo (strix b650e really 💸), atx psu and air cooler, but wont be viable since u alr bought the gb 4070ti which is way too long (barely fits in the nr200p max). for 7700 vs 7700x, if the price of the 7700x is more than 5% over the non x, just get the non x. for ram, since u are getting a non x3d chip, best if u can get 6000c36 or tighter ddr5, currently i only see the gskill trident z5 neo or kingston fury beast meet these timings, are available locally and have rgb. for storage now there is a promo for wd black sn850x across a lot stores, can get 1tb for under $150.

from sls u are buying local stock parts which are generally more expensive than buying export set from say amazon. some shopee and lazada listings are also from sls shops so pricing may not be very different from sls. u can get some really good deals for ram and ssd on amazon, and for ram especially u can get kits with even tighter timings than what is available locally.

good effort. personally i would get them separately as u mentioned the prices do vary from shop to shop, so there can be significant savings. i would also like to suggest a few more things for u to consider. since u are looking at getting a x3d chip, ram selection is less of a worry, so u can drop down to slower kits and still get >95% of the performance for a lot less money. i see u are also targeting 4080 level of performance, so u can take a look at 7900xtx cards which should perform similarly for cheaper, got quite a few models near the $1600 mark (gb gaming oc from bizgram is under) so u stand to save $200-300 from the cheapest 4080. they also dont require the pcie5 power connector so u can save money there too. finally, if u can find the thermalright peerless assassin 120 for cheaper (usually around $80), that is the better pick.

Thanks NightRaven49, so I drew up two lists; one 4080, the other 7900XTX. I'm leaning more towards 4080 since the difference less than 200.
Are these OK for 1440p gaming?

Take note it might not be same price if u buy the gpu only from the shop. Maybe that price is for whole rig. Maybe u double check

personally i will go for the 4080 for DLSS3 and Ray Tracing...although not the best value for $$.

after digging at tradepac prices

gigabyte aorus elite + 5600 - 342
Klevv Bolt 3600mhz 32gb - 130
WD Black SN850X 1tb - 167
Seasonic Focus SGX 650w - 169

the rest of the stuff i will reuse from my current rig...
guys you think can?
i think someone linked somewhere in the forum that klevv cheap out on their bolt kits that their 3600mhz perform like 3200mhz, u can opt for kingston fury beast kit from dynacore that is very slightly cheaper and has slightly tighter cl17 timings. sn850x can also get for cheaper from pcthemes. not sure why u would want to pay the premium for an sfx psu too.

difference is more than $200 what, 3697 - 3444 = $253, not a small amount of money. i would choose the cheaper option as either should perform about the same; why spend more if ur not getting more performance? i think u also cited the pa120 se price, not the regular non se version, which is slightly less capable but should still be more than enough for the 7800x3d.

Quite weird he recommend the Gigabyte Bronze, would go for the Focus GX for the better efficiency and generally better handling of transients and stuff

After much surfing Amazon, Carousell, Lazada in the last 2 weeks, I got the following:

Motherboard - b650 Aorus elite - $395 (Lazada)
CPU - TBC to collect tomorrow either 7700x or 7900x or 7950x still undecided
Sapphire Nitro 7900xtx $1550 (Carousell)

Gskill Trident Z5 32GB 6000mhz CL30
SN850x 2TB
Formulamod PSU extension cables
Total USD 385 (512 SGD) (Amazon US)

SN850x 1TB - $135 (Carousell - buy because my Amazon expected delivery for NVME was month end, but then it updated again to end of the week. Wasted money)
4 x Arctic P14 - $64 (Carousell)
NZXT H7 Flow - $170 (Lazada)
Deepcool LS720 - $159 (Carousell)
Psu - reused

$2590 spent so far - I was hoping to not cross $3K.. but I guess it will happen :(

not sure if I saved any money overall compared to Simlim but I enjoy shopping online hahaha

now time to sell my 5600x RTX3070 PC which I lugi a lot since I bought during the peak of computer prices in Covid times.
Got my CPU 7900x at $580 (non local set)

total $3170 for the above set up just to compare online shopping vs physical shop.

hmm. just happened to see this.. dont mind me.. why O11D Evo when you are using air cooling. you are better off with a case that has airflow.. I seen alot out there, they ended up changing from aircooler to liquid AIO. this case may look good but it's a chimney style kind of case, your air cooler will not benefit from it. as the Side intake fans will tend to work lots more harder to provide cool air to your Air cooler. As for Liquid AIO is different. the airflow is in one direction. bottom intake and up exhaust. as for the side is just to lower the case temperature.

btw if you are just pure gaming 7900XTX is more practical and cheaper. unless you deal with 3D rendering or compliation work. else your 4080 gone to waste just because of DLSS. FSR 3.0 can perform too. also if really want to get RTX4000 series, is either to do the lowest which is 4070ti but no 4k gaming.. or 4090 which is more worth getting compared to a 4080.. overall for games 7900XTX still the ultimate choice plus can game in 4k

seasonic's lineup is generally solid. i still remember when the focus gx 650w cost 140 tho, now closer to 170 range haiz...
best is get the focus gx; u can also consider the focus gm, bizgram has the 650w unit for 138, though it is only semi modular and has 7 yr warranty opposed to 10. the gigabyte psu is the p650b? it probably isnt dangerous unlike previous gigabyte psus, but i wouldnt skimp on the psu if i had the budget.
why ah? why half?
its just in general what i noticed if u want a balanced pc. usually the card costs about half, then the rest of the pc which wont bottleneck the card is also about the same price (or vice versa). no one is stopping u from pairing a celeron with a 4090 or a 7950x3d with a 6500xt, but chances are the experience wont be as good as expected.

I totally agree with NightRaven490. You wont go wrong with Seasonic Focus GX model. the 12v reel is good, won't drop below 12v. mostly 12.08v to 12.13v, 5VSB standby and 3v also hold within range.
Another good PSU will be the Leadtek SupperFlower. Both of these are good to build with, as all their modular cables are flat and flexible.

There are some premium afforable PSU from Corsair , their reel voltages are good too but I normally wont get it unless getting cablemod pro cables (additional cost and also wasting money). reason is, thier default modular cables are very clumpsy. Sleeving are thick, not flexible and tend to be chunky even after cable managment are done properly. It takes up space at the bottom of the case and might block the front intake of your case.

Add-on : Corsair 8pin EPS cables are short. therefore you will see your EPS cable go across at the back of your case to reach the EPS connector of the motherboard.

This case got no airflow ah? But I see it has lots of fans...
I don't want liquid cooling as I don't want to maintain it in the future.

I want 4080 to play D4 with RTX enabled.
The difference between them also 200-ish, might as well get the 4080.
