For wifi no neutral switch , capacitor at 1st gang lighting point mandatory. At least those brands (Burnett, Minitiger) I know need it.

For Broadlink TC2 RF switch , seller will tell you newer version (2019 onwards) has improved design so capacitor is optional at the lighting point if no flickering.

For some other RF switches, usually seller will recommend installation of capacitor due to switch design. Eg Funry.

Hence it is best to follow seller's advice - which was what I said in the first place. Really many variety of switches.

Usually the capacitor is to connect at device side. This provide a bypass so that those electronics in switch continue to get some power when it is off position.

Some device, eg certain type of LED driver. Already has capacitor build in. Then you do not need this additional capacitor.

Hi there, not sure that was a question for me ?

anyway, i can share what i know... , im using non-neutral wire switches as well, the brand im using is livolo.

So far they didnt give me any issues... but livolo switch are toggle-mode, meaning if u pair with a remote, the same button toggles it on when off, and toggle off when on.....

some other brands of non neutral switches available right now are Funry , MiniTiger, Broadlink TC2 ...

but i have follow the forum for awhile and there hav been complains on Broadlink TC2 switches have issue, lik spoilt after awhile or so, but recently i check with a seller in SG Carousell, there seems to hav a new 2019 enhanced TC2, therefore im asking ard if anybody have tried and whether the realiability improves ?

To try answer ur question,

1. what level led watts will kana flickering problem?
(think TC2 have the 100w per button restriction, and so mayb if too high watts will kana the flicker ? I'm not sure as i didn't encounter any issue with livolo switches so far )

2. For broad band tc2 no neutral, does it mean no on / off status?
(yes, almost all non neutral wire switches doesnt have feedback, which u cant see from app whether is it on/off in real-time, but i understand the new switch MiniTiger have eWelink/SmartLife app control as well, then if yes, it will have feedback status i believe, but i don't realli see anybody using this switch yet for now)

I assume you oredi setup the RM Pro with IHC, from the Tmall Genie App, just need to add/link the broadlink acc same as ur IHC - same way like GH. Once ur broadlink acc added, u will see RM Pro and all other devices if any from IHC appear at Tmall Genie app .. found that for Tmall Genie to control , the device location and device name shd be in chinese (done at IHC)- no issue for GH to recognize that too if u have GH oso... That's how the rm pro works for both my Tmall Genie and GH.

np, both IHC and eControl can coexist and can work independently..u may use the backup and restore function of eControl to backup and restore all its existing linked remote ctrl just in case.

Hi, need some help from the experts here.

However, once I put the faceplate back on, the both switch lights keep blinking like its in pairing mode, and once the blinking stops the switches are non-responsive.

Everything works fine with the faceplate off and pairing is successful.

Anyone encountered this kind of issue before and is there a fix?

Think i have something similar before with livolo switch, seems to happen when the faceplate and the base doesnt fit properly. Normally I just remove and put back in several times until the alignment is perfect then it will work fine from then on...

I managed to fix this by power off the mains, putting the faceplate on, and turning the power back on.

My electrician installed the TC2 switch without switching off the mains, so that was the mistake here that caused the issue when the faceplate was put on.

This also fixed a separate bug - previously I was not able to turn on/off both my lights at the same time, so I had to space out the commands - now I'm able to.

Does anyone have experience in successfully connecting RM hat products to Singtel's Askey system?

I know that RM can only connect to 2.4ghz -- but I'm not sure how to create a separate network on Askey. Any advice appreciated, thx!

Is this guy a licensed electrician (LEW) or Superman? Work on live circuit without engaging the circuit breaker??

SMART Light: yeelight, Philips hue
SMART SWITCH: Broadlink or AQARA or MCO with respective hub, Else get the wifi versions like Sonoff or MCO or TUYA compatible switch
Timer function depends on the App or hub or clould setting..

As you already have neutral wire installed, I'd suggest skipping those stateless RF switches and go with either Zigbee or Z-Wave switches. They are more reliable (Mesh network) and is stateful (it reports whether the switch is really ON or OFF).

Wifi switch would be another (cheaper) alternative.

I'm currently using a Broadlink TC2, does not need neutral wire. I was under the impression that the control for this would just be "toggle", i.e. that the hub and Alexa would not know the state as to whether the switch is on or off.

I did some extensive testing just now. I told Alexa to turn the switch on, manually switched off the light, and told Alexa to turn the switch off. Nothing happened. Told Alexa to turn the switch on and the light turned on.

The TC2 may not be able to display the "state" of the switch, but there are two separate "commands" for turning "on" and "off" at least.

Not too sure how knowing the "state" of the switch will improve my home automation experience compared to what I've set up now.
