Sounds like a winner in the world of entry level dap, really got to hear it for myself then haha.

But then again, portability to me is very important. I want to be able to listen with just a plug of earphones instead of having to lug another device out.

Currently using viper4android with Westone 4. Hope the increase in audio quality is of significance to warrant the purchase heh

wow same! I'm using the viper4android too.

Back to the topic, I'm very tempted to pre-order too. But abit scare I would make a wrong choice. I guess I wait for the product launch first!

@xuan: how's the UI? does it support on the go playlists now? seems like u really liked it when you tired it huh

I see a lot of promise with the UI given the short amount of time I played with it. I predict that I will know my way around it more as I use it more often.

Can't answer your qn about the on the go playlists as I did not organize my songs in my SD card. I am currently using an Ipod touch, and just dump some songs into my SD card just to try out the X1 with.

I just read the headfonia review of FiiO X1. For the most part and for the longest time I can remember, I agree largely with the author on his impression of the X1.

The sound quality wasn't the greatest, I actually prefer my ipod touch 1st gen paired with my RHA MA750i compared to the X1 paired with the MA750i. That's the main reason why I didn't put down my money on the preorder.

Now I'm looking at the X3. It's like the totally opposite of the X1, bad UI but great sound. The X3 is only going for US$170 on Amazon.
