my mum just complained to the funan service centre already.they say sometimes is i downloaded den cause tis problems and said maybe vista problems.i tell u all wat happen. The first time i go cause my laptop got whinning sound, they said they never set the setting themsleves(they let themselves out). 2nd time: laptop hinge got sound, maybe just something normal, not really problem.( Ths one i say de). Third time, bsod, bad poolcaller, flickering den screen like mashed up.So i reformatt den everything became so lag..it was like u were using something worse than windows 95...I send for repair, they say is software issues, reformatt.done le.(i also noe how to to test using fujitsu hardware diagnostic)..So few weeks later, which is today,i got the blue screen of death(bad pool caller) again. Then i did harddisk test on the fujitsu diagonostic, when comes to harddisk,it says cannot run and skip to the nexttest. So i tried scandisk i click start then just stays there,no scanning or wat.den everyting become so lag..i click cancel nothing happed.i click restart,10 mins den restart, when it says shutting down,it stays there for 20 minutes.lol.now nothing happen. My laptop now also keep having windows have stopped responding whenever i open my computer, recycle bin .etc..

For your issue, you did encounter BSOD? What is the full error code that you encounter? Bad Pool Caller might be hardware or software. When you reformat, what steps have you done? And you reformat is by windows based or bootup from disc? After they reformat and few weeks later , you encounter BSOD again so meaning that before that, everyting run fine after you got back the machine?

You can go to the one at Sim Lim Square level 5, near to the food court there. More convenient. :D

Dude, you are mistaken and i dunno how you got this info from where? Beside SLS 5th floor got foodcourt or u mean funan? In order to get a XP Pro recovery disc, your initial OS must be vista business and drivers need to be download from thier website. For fujitsu user, kindly go to AsiaPac Distributor Pte Ltd there to get 1. There is the only place u can get for your fujitsu vista business lappy

Are you generalising that your Fujitsu laptop has dead pixels?

oh just asking..the service centre doesnt open on deepavali rite

yes, it is open for servicing. You can send the laptop down for servicing. It is open I think 364 days per year. :D For the Funan IT Mall branch.

Eh Divasion, so how? Btw, It is natural for liquid crystal displays (LCD) to show a small number of missing or discoloured dots. These are commonly known as non-conforming pixels.
This is a technology limitation of LCD and does not represent a defect. It does not reduce the performance of the product.

I wonder if the service center would be glad to help me upgrade my hard disk from my current 80GB to maybe at least 160GB for a fee and I wonder how much would that be. Haha!

Hi does anyone know how many years warranty is the harddisk for Lifebook C series?

My aunts laptop has problems booting up, it just stops at the Windows loading screen and will sometimes enter the checking the harddisk. But it will always stop at around 12% and some tick tack sound will be heard. I think the harddisk is spoilt.

Isit worthwhile to go back to Fujitsu if its no longer under warranty to get the harddisk replaced? She cant remember when exactly she purchased the laptop but its probably end 2003 or early 2004.

normally is a 3 years warranty.. if out of warranty, not worth to go back to get it replaced.. might as well buy a new laptop.. :D

If the problem isn't that serious, still can consider sending it, just pay $80 for the service fee + the charges for the parts and GST.

$80 for service fee? That's excluding price of the harddisk if it needs replacing right?
That's kinda expensive though. But will they just replace the harddisk or will they install OS back? How many years warranty will the harddisk be if i get it from Fujitsu? Standard 3 years and will they replace/fix it for free if the harddisk fails within the 3 years or still need to pay another $80 for the service fee?

I'm wondering whether its better to get a harddisk from SLS and replace it myself but i dun have experience in replacing laptop harddisk although 1 of my friend offered to show me how. I'm just thinking whether its better to DIY or go back to Fujitsu.

replacing the hdd is fairly simple, i did it on my old ibm before for the 1st time. just ensure u get the right model from sls. use the recovery disk they provide to reinstall. but if your set is still under 3 yrs warranty, they will replace the hdd for free. no service charge for 1st yr only.

As long as it is within the warranty period, they will replace the parts for you free.

unless it's 1st year warranty for new notebook, $80 before gst will always be an entrance fee to the fujitsu service centre, there is no such thing as free
