Go to your "Sound" in control panel, and see if there's any "recording" tab.
If there is, there is a built-in microphone and you can change the setting there.

Oh. It's XP.
My house systems have all changed to Vista.
Currently can't help much.
But under "Voice", maybe you can mess around there...
But is there a "hole" on your laptop surface that seems to be microphone?

Hi, I have some problem with my 2 year old E7110.
I can;t get into windows and it says "OS not found"
I have read thru the previous pages and feel that it is most prob that the HDD is spoilt.

Then some forumers suggested buying the HDD and replace it yourself so as to save the service charge from Fujitsu.

As im still under warranty(I think the warranty is 3 yr), I do not have to pay for the HDD if its indeed a HDD prob. So I will just need to pay the $80 service charge.

I need advise whether I shud send the laptop in to Fujitsu for check and repair or I should just buy a HDD and replace myself.

I have neva replace a HDD before though.

Thanks

No.
HDD will be determined to be spoil after certain test/ observations.

Re-install your system with the recovery disc which is given in the box.
Most likely that your system files have corrupted.

I tried re installing with the recovery disc but to no avail. It does not allow me to reinstall. I forgotten what error msg it showed up.

Even though it might exceed your budget, you will be able to put your mind at ease as the adaptor from the service centre is probably the most compatible and it comes with a warranty.

Probably there are still some dirt or debris still stuck somewhere in your laptop and perhaps the laptop fan has not been fully cleansed. My advice to you would be to send it to the service centre for system check up.
