Hi all,

I recently boought a T4220 8flags - the shop in NTU. I opt to downgrade to Windows XP Pro. However, after I have downgraded, I could not use the tablet functions and stylus pen anymore. I later realised the I may need the Windows XP Pro Tablet Edition. Yet 8flags claim that Win XP Pro alone can support and my problem is probably a drivers issue and asked me to bring it down for them.

I need some opinions on this issue. Thanks a lot.

Since they say they can solve the issue then see how

Tablet edition is just XP fixed with some tablet support. Actually Vista is very good for tablet.

If the 8 flags guys cannot do it for you then u can find tablet edition in 'alternative ways'

hey I also just bought the same laptop from NTU recently.
I didnt want to downgrade to XP...so will keep Vista as that. But I have a problem installing my Singnet modem to the laptop. I use Lan ethernet to be specific. So I dont understand how I can set a new connection using Vista! My model's a Speedtouch 536 v6. I have been using this for abt 6 mths now. and it couldnt read my Smartfix CD!...I deduce that as it has a message which says something in the system is not working to install the CD.

IMAGE_027.jpg

Can someone provide any explanation to this?...cos I suspect that it not Vista compatible. Im not sure is it. Dunno is it a Fujitsu problem, or a SingNet problem!

Also is it alright to remove the NTU network connections as they have installed in the pc?

Another doubt, it's fine not to use OmniPass right?...I was trying to sign in for it for the first time but I dont know the password of it which is required at one point. I was keying in a password of mine for the first time and its not valid! So is there a fixed password that is required to be keyed in instead? Can someone guide me on that too? I dont get that password thing!

Hope you guys can help!

Didi you pay for the charge to downgrade? If yes, then demand for a copy of the XP Pro tablet edition which is more appropriate. If no, gently tell them the problem and see if they can rectify it.

who did the downgrade for u? i believe that urs is under vista business. u can get the win xp tablet edition from asiapac. just call 62720088 (hotline) and told them u wan to downgrade. its free as far as i know. no charges unless 8 flags do it for u and charge it under their account.

wor.. this is the first time i saw this error msg.. i would suggest that you google this error and c if any1 happens to get the same issue.. if yes, most likely would be able to get a solution from there.
omnipass default has no password. the password that they prompt u is ur own windows password. which means, if you nv put password for windows login, then no nid to put password for omnipass. personally, i would suggest that you create a password. reason is becos of security reasons, in case the omnipass fails.

NTU network connections shld be ok to remove if you are not using the network.

as for the speedtouch cd, the application i would suggest u check wif singtel whether there is any updated drivers for the modem and application which is vista ready.

Hi all, first post goes here =o

Anyway, I'm currently using a Lifebook E8210.. Should I upgrade it to an E8410?
My main focus is on the graphics card.. So effectively my question is X1400 (>/=/<) 8400M?

Also, recently, my laptop started making a lot of noise, coming from the cpu area. Could it be that the cpu fan is faulty? And I noticed that smudging in Photoshop is lagging while it didn't last time.

Thanks.

Do you feel that the computer is extremely hot than before?
