Dedica sometimes also has issues with heat (not hot enough), run an empty shot (no beans, just empty portafilter) of water before pulling the shot to heat up the group head and basket. :)

Good advice for machines in general without heat siphon (these should also flush before shot to regulate grouphead thermal) or electrically heated group. But then for the beans he mentioned, very difficult to work with la, though tiong hoe jet Candy it's workable. nylon's ones are.. don't want to go near there without doing alot of trial and error.

thanks for both the comments! usually i will heat up just the group head but not the portafilter. will give that a try later.

so u do know about the jet candy being able to work with dedica. and yea nylon ones is bad so far unfortunately.

I've based my finding of working with Jet Candy with my linea mini, it's not as light as nylon's offering so should be ok.

wow Linea mini is like a pro machine but still can’t extract properly for nylon? will need to explore your beans recommendations

Hi, anyone have experience buying from espresso coffee shop site? Rocket is slightly cheaper there.

Is it legit site and how long normally is shipping duration,

Read HWZ Forum Rules!
Yes legit. I forgot take how long but I got it at the start of covid so it’s not accurate.
Ask them to send you uk plug version else by default it’s eu plug.

I don't think that slight difference is worth it losing the local support, you will need regular maintenance and servicing. :(

I'm new to Expresso machine. Been using Nespresso capsule but find that the cost and value I'm getting from each extract is definitely not worth it.

Any recommendations or guide for beginner like me to start with?

wow got a few more people joining the black hole liao. i bought a new de’longhi dedica after being poisoned by a friend.

one thing led to another start looking at internet on mods and buying different portafilter.

then found out the beans that i got from Nylon and Tiong Hoe doesn’t not seem to give me a good taste and hard to get consistency from the grinds.

end up buying a used Breville smart grinder pro from carousell. this is so that i control the grind setting for every 18g instead of every bag(from the shops)!!

now waiting for the beans from Homeground coffee as recommended by the bros here to degas before grinding.

on hindsight, i would suggest buy a used espresso brewer and see how far you really like this hobby. but it’s really a black hole as it’s almost limitless the amount of money u can spend to meet your own expectation.

Wah thanks for sharing. Honestly. Im just someone that wants coffee dosage. Just frustrated with paying the capsule and having the insufficient dosage per shot.

just managed to make a decent latte from homeground coffee beans and fine tuning the correct grind size with my grinder at home. seriously beats getting ground coffee from roasteries as need a few trials and errors to get the grind size right to get the overall correct output.

If you want to show someone what really good espresso should taste like, where would be the top 3 places you would bring this person? Finally have enough disposable dough to purchase a machine, but want to manage my expectations accordingly.

I am coming from Nespresso, but it is really more of a put-caffeine-in-my-system kind of affair, rather than really enjoying the drink.
