the VAT issue many has been talking about it.

What they came to was that the item was passed to another party to do the delivery therefore it has "change hands" in UK therefore VAT cannot be claim

sounds csb...want charge extra 20%, at least send out using dhl still can forgive. :o

tiagong they use dpd and then last mile courier, how long take to deliver singapore? now gbp crashed, NZ is more affordable than other same range options!

Does anyone do descaling on your machine?
I read that in SIngapore, our tap water are pretty soft, some suggested that its not a need.

Im running a Breville dual boiler BTW.
Did you get a response? I did measure GH/KH and it is indeed very soft. Have also not descaled my machine since I got it in 2020.

Thanks for sharing.

By the way guys, what’s the next closest coffee to local coffeeshop Kopi?

My closest so far is a blend that ToastBox offers, harshness of Kopi and some smoothness of cafe-style coffee.

Early morning bad coffee... haiz..

Help!!
today morning as usual preparing my latte.
Suddenly extraction was waterly at around 3bar.. (Usually 9bar)

equipment -
breville dual boiler
Baratza sette 30 grinder (Upgraded with 270 adjustment assembly)

I try with a blind basket on the dual boiler with no issue getting over 11bar.
I clean up my grinder and re-test, same, getting waterly extraction at 2-3bar..
i turn up the dial on my grinder all the way til the end.. but still same ..

Any help on whats the problem?
i dont mind getting a new grinder since its already 2 year old..
as for the machine its only 5month old.. under warranty.
Just dont wanna get a new grinder and end up issue not on grinder (Than my wife will KBKP again at me for wasting money) lol
Any help?

Italian roast coffee are more mellow and less dark/harsh than local kopi.

Sounds obvious that the resistance from the coffee is too little.

Either add more coffee or tune the grind setting finer.
Try with another pack of darker roast.

If all don't work, then your grinder has issue. :(

Maybe another excuse for me to get a niche zero grinder.. lol

just buy it, end game grinder for us peasant. even if gbp drop, the delivery import charges went up, so not much saved then 2-3 years ago. :o

another thing you can try with your sette is when you change grind settings, run the grinder, change few notches, run grinder and repeat until your desired settings.

tiagong this to expel grinds currently inside that blocked your burrs from going finer. so while your markings show finer, the burrs do not tighten as much. at least what i saw with NZ when i did this
