If cost is really the concern, it is totally worth it to invest in a reliable and durable coffee grinder.

1. Coffee whole beans are always cheaper. So the grinder will eventually pay back itself with all the savings.

2. Coffee oxidise too quickly when in powdered form. Within 5 days lose more than 50 percent of its aromatic profiles. This would take coffee beans 6 weeks to reach the same condition. Meaning you must rush to finish if you are on the coffee powder route and you will never enjoying the full quality it should have.

lol, I used to buy margo & mokacrema, the 2 extreme ends of dark roast & light roast.
Never noticed the balanced ROMA till it gets sold out and mentioned here so often...

Not knowing your budget would be hard to recommend one.
But if you want handgrind, look at the timemore lineup, particularly the K-max. Thats a USD 200 for just a handgrinder, no **** its expensive. But in this hobby, what i learnt is that either you got the experience and get a slightly more budget less beginner-friendly option or throw more money.

My fault. Under $80 for hand grinder. Maybe timemore C2 or Hario Skerton+?

I think you cant go wrong with C2 and people often referred as the "Best entry" to Handgrinder. However, there is some plastic parts and it produced that bit of fines more (> Astringency).

Prepare to sink into the darkness as you will upgrade more later down the road !

I'd buy from the guys in FineCoffeeCompany anytime given their quality vs price ratio, their markup if any at all is quite reasonable. Before this recommendation on HWZ, my regular beans were Lavazza from Shopee. And all the other mistakes like Jewel, Paksong, Jaxinn, Redmart..

Tiong Hoe prices are on the high side, their daily blend $18.90 for 250g, with quite a few single origin specialty beans that are priced even higher. My AIO auto espresso machine can't extract all that goodness.

I wouldn't say the dark roast type from Redmart/Paksong and etc are bad, just that the taste profile is not my type ... . Esp true after trying Margo, it's better & cheaper than my regular Super Crema Lavazza.

FCC, it depends? One earlier shipment of Roma was completely taken by some chain cafe, so OOS for a few mths, while other specific coffees were OOS due to delayed shipments.
I make do with the rest that's available, try something else from the same brand.

I got a Eureka Manuale before which is basically the same as specialita without the bells and whistles. First of all, if you are using it as a single dose grinder i suggest you just get the DF64 that is built for that. Eureka by itself is a on-demand grinder which requires the hopper to be at least 1/3 full to get pressure exerted on the beans. This ensures grind uniformity and consistency. However, it was sometime later some users found that it worked surprisingly well for single-dose usage with some modding (Angled Based + Bellow + remove declumper).

If i were you i will hold it until timemore releases their 078s. Else just get DF64 then mod a bit to fix the declumper (not sure if its still a problem)
