there are so many similar conplaints on google play store, but there is no response at all from OCBC on what is the problem. just compare with how DBS handles the critical review on google play store.

on a side note, if you think that the problem lies with the cached data on the phone, that after the phone update the cached data has post a conflict with the app internal mechanism, and the solution is to uninstall and reinstall the app, then this should be put up clearly in the app error message, instead of blaming user's phone to be insecure or rooted. if your software developers team are not able to figure the potential problems and provide clear and proper solutions / error messages, please replace them with better ones. it is not worth to save some software developer salary to lose majority of your customers. and please make sure that the app works properly first before boasting of more advanced feature like the recent ai powered voice based virtual assistant. what is the point of having a new feature that is inaccessible because user cannot log in?

U guys did not test on the new Android 10 OS. It is completely unacceptable for a critical platform like a banking app to not work at all. I cannot even go on using a pc cos the otp is on the app! Telling ppl to uninstall and reinstall is just simply gonna piss us off. Just fix the app!

Internet fund transfer to another perons's local bank

Hi OCBC,

got a longstanding question on my mind that I finally need to ask.

Why does your online internet/HP app fund transfer to another local person's bank account still requires to have the physical token?

I have already set up the 2 factor authentication method via my HP sms. OCBC cannot expect people to carry with them the token everywhere and at the initial login & transaction process, you have already requested for the authentication and I find this very inconvenient and redundant and I always ended up going down to the atm machine to do my transfers.

Tokens were use prior to the implementation of HP sms verification back in the early 90s. I really do not see the need for this old additional step.

Hi kuti,

If you are adding a new payee for the funds transfer, a physical token will be required for transaction signing. We are afraid that this is necessary for transactions with enhanced security.

Hi ocbc, can’t get through your hotline for 15 mins. The hardware token is not functioning and I need a replacement urgently. May I know the branches that can do one-to-one replacement on the spot? And also the replacement service is available until 7pm?

Hi kuti-kuti,

If you have misplaced your hardware token, and would like to request for a replacement, you could call our hotline at 1800 363 3333. You may also consider registered for OneToken (digital token) which will replaced SMS-OTP/hardware token.

Hi there,

We are sorry to learn that you were not able to get through our line.

Customers will be able to proceed to any of the branches for same day hardware token issuance.

Do note that you will still need to join the queue and complete the relevant forms. Once the forms has been completed, do give our branches some time to process the request.

Thanks. I have just read the OneToken info on your website, but I still don't understand how exactly it works. Can you briefly describe it? This OneToken will send to my HP the code and I do not need the physical token anymore?

Thanks

Hi there, I'm using a S10+ and suddenly, I get the security risk error even though I'm on Android 9. It worked fine for a while previously (had issues a few months ago). Please fix this.

Really tempted to switch to another bank after all the troubles i've had this year.

Hi there,

If the transactions are made and posted in the month of September, it will count towards the minimum spend, and be eligible for 0.3% cashback (provided payment is not made via Internet Banking or AXS).

However, do note that from October onwards, such transactions will be excluded from minimum spend and rebates. T&Cs with effect from 1 October 2019: https://www.ocbc.com/assets/pdf/365-terms-and-conditions-1-oct-2019.pdf?v=2019090501

Hi trenzterra,

Please try deleting and reinstalling the app. We have received feedback that this have worked for some of our customers.

If it still doesn't work for you, please drop us a private message with your bank registered mobile number. We will arrange for our service executive to call and assist with OneToken deactivation, so that you are able to revert to using the hardware token / SMS-OTP to login for the time being.

Hi there,

Once the OneToken has been activated, customers will no longer need to / be able to use SMS-OTP or the hardware token to access Online and Mobile Banking services. The OneToken will be used for authentication during these sessions.

If you will be activating OneToken, do ensure that push notification on your device is turn on.
