P40 Pro + I think no e-sim support based on circle's-life list of supported devices for their e-sim sub. Take note if you want to use e-sim in the future.

Get P40 Pro if your subscription plan allows you to get it for free.

If you can live without some key apps eg SingPass, tracetogether, OCBC etc not being able to run on P40 series at the moment then go ahead and get it.

Go for P40 if you are into photography.

Go for Mate series if you prefer Jack of all trade type.

For me , without GMS running is perfectly fine. Most of the time I sideload APK to the phone but again you need to be sure the APK you install is from a reliable source eg. APKPURE.

This is another deal breaker for some as HW has decided to disable call recording in EMUI 10.

There should be alternative app eg. ACR

No. It is not working anymore. ACR now can only record my voice but not the other party.

Anyone got MS authenticator working?
Did a side load, looks like it is working except for the error msg that says Google service is missing which I doubt so. Just need confirmation before I port my accounts over.
Need to use it for my work.

So far no issue with most of the app. Even for Gmail, drive or etc, I just use the web version. No much diff. Google authenticator is a pain though but I have pretty much switched to 2fa with sms.

But unless you have a main phone, one will consider other things like apps supported, screen, battery life are taken into place .

yes i was referring to Pro and Pro Plus

but Pro Plus is still commanding a significant premium

one of my colleagues is using P40 Pro, he sits beside me

with a little bit of effort he has full access to everything including Blackberry Work so i feel it’s quite ok

i heard from a telco staff; if you side-load GMS, it voids they warranty

anybody here using the phone for what it should be? aka HMS?
