well i somehow managed to make it work.. had to pause all other apps not downloaded and try to load them 1 by 1 individually, never experienced this before in the several times of using icloud restoration :/

Your set from Apple store? They will do 1-1 within 14 days provided there is stock. If not use return and get a new set later. If not from Apple store then can help you.

Should be downloading the photos/videos and curating/indexing. Yes mine also took around 2-3hrs, phone not hot too. But after that, all’s well. Don’t so “Kan Cheong” to use your new phone. Lol

Initially when your phone never open other parts are good, once open, you never know what other parts will start to fail. Not say I don’t trust Apple but better to take precaution.

And water resistant seal will not be good as before too

Gone case in what way? My X during warranty period camera faulty and they replaced the camera module, and just before warranty ended I got the battery replaced during the battery replacement program. Both needed the phone to be opened and so far so good.

Will change 1 retail set to 1 refurbished set(they claim its new)- just asked on Tuesday due to my phone issue

Don’t worry bro. Of all places that do repair, you certainly got to trust Apple Technicians. Watching those dismantling videos on YouTube you’ll have a rough guide on how they seal back the phone to be IP68 again.

There’s a rubber all round seal in the form of peeling off from a sticker whereby they’ll paste on the circumference of your phone, before enclosing they back case.

Same thing, this rubber seal is so tight that dismantling videos you see, have to pry open along the openings, with a suction rubber attached on the front screen and pull open with great force. That’s how tight the seal is.

To share what you’ve just said bro, telco sets once leave telco, any problems be it cosmetic, go back to Apple Store for 1-1 exchange (white box refurbished set with Model N). New phones are Model M. Check under settings>general>about>model number.

But Apple retail sets once paid and leave Apple store, any cosmetic flaws are also being replaced by this white box set. Not like we can return the whole black box of the iPhone 11 Pro/Max, and get another new black box. Then again, we must be so so lucky to get that 1 out of 100 defective set. Like bro manofsorrows with dust specks found on his out of the box iP11.

Ok. What’s the implication here is that in the event if we wanna sell off our phone in a year’s time, serial number being diff from box may cause dealers not to accept our phone.

Thanks to all the bros who chime in, I got my set from M1 re-contract, guess I'll just use it and 'train' my eyes to ignore it, I did read that it'll take time for the AMOLED to settle in? Hopefully that's the case if not, I'll just stick with it.

Cause I’m planning to go and swap my phone today but not sure if it will really affect my selling value in the future

They will match the numbers. If it doesn't match they will ask you. Of cos, i will assume you will also tell them upfront that you replaced the phone before. Most important thing for them is the condition of the phone. The rest are secondary. They will take down your detail anyway.

This one i'm not sure but i assume if on the spot you open with the person beside you and there is really an issue, i would guess it will be a direct brand new swap?? This one need people to confirm.
