The elite runners if clocking mileage surely have to do 2 a day. Just ask @KuudereSeem like my new shoe is tight and I loosen it my feet is ok liao
But not used to this shoe run slowly and muscle feel some strain
Has anyone try running 2 time in a day?
Get well soon!I think the shoes are a bit wide and tripped on the outside sole, landed on my right shoulder. Went x-ray and seems like a tear in the ligament.
Thanks sir! Will add to the list of socks to check outmy most effective socks to minimize discomfort during ponding in summer are cycling socks. You can try if they fit you well

Clunky shoes. Avoid.Maybe muscle memory default to previous shoes. This new one wider so knock into each other.

Yea lesson learnt. I try to avoid wide shoes with chunky outsoles now.Clunky shoes. Avoid.
Ya many shoes now with midsole protruding out from the side and back. For extra support.Clunky shoes. Avoid.

But can be hazardous. For eg. narrow steps on some overhead bridge.
Even since I felled and got slipped disc in 2022, I avoid all stairs when possible. Just take lift or walk longer route. For steps, even back then in 2022 the Novablast 3 already had this issue of the back clipping the vertical surfaces of any steps, be it HDB or overhead or buildings/malls....when you are stepping down. And if the steps are those rough type, like those ones with small gravel patterns, you really can scrape against the vertical wall hard and it makes a loud sound and might even cause you to lose balance.
Before that i dont know, havent started running yet. heh....

I wouldn’t say I am elite, but competitive amateur runner. The elite runners if clocking mileage surely have to do 2 a day. Just ask @Kuudere

I wouldn’t say I am elite, but competitive amateur runner.
A few points:
1. I don’t think there’s a need to touch doubles until you run 100k week and above.
2. To even hit 100k/week, you need to slowly ramp up. This could take years of incremental running.
3. The next problem is sleep. If you are doing doubles, then how can you get in enough sleep/rest? (ideal is 8 hours or more, 7 hours is the minimum).
4. The problem after this is time. If you have many life commitments, then it interferes with running. Busy job also affects. Doubles consume more time, you have to change out to run twice. If your route has traffic light, then it's double of the traffic lights.
5. The last problem is average run pace. If your average run pace isn’t as fast (5+ min/km), then running long mileage or doubles, will take a lot of time.
6. You need to factor in strength training. Because no way you can sustain 100+km/week without getting in strength work. My solution to this is to focus on building strength during base building (<100k weeks). And then slowly substitute the strength training for running. Gold standard probably be 2 hours of weekly strength training for 100km of running. The more you run, the more strength training you have to do.
Here's comes the plus points:
1. If you work from home, then those days are the realistic days you can slot in doubles.
2. Weekends (the other day that you don't do long run) can be the doubles day. Or public holiday.
3. If you want to do doubles, double recovery runs are good. Don't gek kiang and go do double threshold. Single threshold + second double run. Or long run + second run. All these combinations aren't easy to execute.
4. Most plans, even the pfitz 18 week/70 miles (113 km peak) which is also the sub-3 hour marathon plan, only has 6 out of 18 weeks where they have single week doubles. It's not like every week you run doubles.
5. Take advantage of your annual leaves, 1 day of leave can be used for doubles.
I've been climbing stairs up and down daily since covid. Its a good leg exercise for me as I can skip at the gym.Even since I felled and got slipped disc in 2022, I avoid all stairs when possible. Just take lift or walk longer route.
If die die have to climb stairs, I hold onto side handle like a guniang.![]()
Didn't know cycling socks can be so thin like translucent. I think this may work for heavy sweater. Just don't like calve length socks.Ok i did my aero socks measurements and test.
My cycling socks
https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id...oughtlist.suborder_itemtitle.1.47002e8d3r2Lh8
Vs Decathlon 500 series running socks (I think is the 1pc $7.90 type)......
Using digital calipers to measure (more than accurate enough)
Decathlon 500 = 1.5x mm thick.
My aero cycling socks = 1.3x mm thick.
Also tried wetting both up 100% by dunking into water basin and then using my hands to lightly wring dry.
Then hung both side by side on a hanger, with the aero socks being "longer" simply coz the calf section is taller.
The Decathlon RS500 is ankle length mah.
1hr later, my cycling aero sock is noticeably more dry for the sole section vs the Decathon RS500 running sock, and the calf section is totally dry. Not sure how much the moisture wicking (upwards direction, i hung them from the top down ie correct way up).
One more thing, this version of mine has the silicone gripper at the top of the calf section, it is of a poker dot design. I have another type, the horizontal type design, that type my skin got some sensitivity to it.
I think can try xllms' type of socks. Same material type as this one from EVR...which is branded, but not too expensive as well, also can try.

BTW, the calf section of the aero sock is pretty think, basically if you choose the white version it is somewhat translucent. It dries really really fast.....faster than any of my cycling or running apparels.
