Something popped in my almost 1 month old 47LM6700 TV earlier. Now when I turn on the TV, there seems to be a crack inside, similar to the screen below:

I'm really pissed at the moment. Just wanted to share with you guys. Hope you don't suffer the same fate as my TV did.

how come u don't take pic of the LG instead of using a SHARP ??

i thought there is warranty? no?

Btw jus to share, I have been using a old astone model media player with optical out my 5.1 hts. It went kaboom jus rite after my new tv ce... Supers timing siah...

Anyway, ; hdmi slots really so useful. I have to content with jus 2 for the past few years.. So i did a optical pairing from hts to tv. When I play my movies, I was like wow wtf... Sure or not.. Was really nice... Make me wonder if lg had put inside some super duple en encoding on the audio chip or whatever....

do let us know if there is any transport/labour charges??

because it seems like their onsite service requires $130 with gst = $139.10, from their LG website. this is quite a ripped off if it is not covered under warranty period!

my salesman just keep telling me the LG tv i buy is best value for money. :(

now i see this i'm quite scared.... :(

I hope there won't be any charges.

My Hitachi 32" was serviced onsite about 3 yrs ago. Didn't have to pay anything coz it was still under warranty. Issue: no video; only audio

My brother's 40" Bravia 3D TV was serviced last year -- also onsite -- for free coz it was under warranty (only around 1 year old by then). Issue: no video.

Prior to purchasing this LG I owned a 42" LG LCD TV (non-LED). Used it for around 2 years I think. Never had any issue with it. The replacement however... :frus:

Is quite clear something has hit the TV (as seen from the picture). these are external impact so I do not think it is cover under warranty.

Using fingure is what salesman normally do. Guess no one will use something hard to hit.
Anyway, the picture look like some external impact. Either something hit or already some hair line crack during transport. Never trust those transport company. Many of them any how handle. So is important to check the packing before accepting it.

There's none. If you look at the glass, there's not even a scratch.

Just call LG. My lm9600 had a vertical line less than 1 month after purchase. They brought a whole new panel with them the next day after my call and fixed it on the spot. Your is very likely a panel fault. I had a few experiences with LG support and I must say they are very prompt. Be very specific when you call them so that they will bring a new panel with them during the housecall. Good luck!

I've utilised 2 times of warranty for different LG tv under warranty and wasn't charged a single cent. The warranty does cover parts transport and labour. Plus they usually come down the next day after the call, very prompt! Even though my first LG broke down but I recently purchased another 2 lm9600 cos I'm actually quite confident in their after sales. It's really tough to be lucky in getting the flawless tv now, even if it's made in native country such as Japan or Korea. After sales is key and LG is really good so far for me.

Yeah. Called them earlier. Earliest they can send in their service guys is on Monday (probably because weekend is non-working days for them). I asked about charges and was told that there will be none since the unit is covered by 3 years warranty.

Told the guy that I'm looking for the receipt at the moment (i seem to have misplaced it -- may have to go to Courts Tampines to get a copy as worst case scenario) and he said that they can base the warranty using the product's serial number. Just sharing here as an FYI for those who are not aware.

Is it normal to have bright spots like stronger light leakage at the top right hand corner of the LED LCD TV like LM6410?

LG42LM6410brightspotattop2corners_zps15975acf.jpg

Poor picture added. Difficult to capture on the phone camera. Pls increase the brightness of your display to see.

Hi,

how do you solve this isssue.

mine is better than yours, only very minimal light at the top corner. not sure if this is normal..i read some review saying that All led tv at the moment got bleed. All brands encounter this due to edge bleeding.
