I heard that JB properties have been dropping. Is that true? I wouldn't mind staying in JB. Also wouldn't mind living in HDB.

Whether it dropped or not, foreigners are allowed only to buy property above 1 million RM.

Usually we go by 1st link. Fastest about 1 hr plus from our home to 4hrs if bad jam.
This weekend we took 2 hrs from home in Sg to Austin heights and 2.5hrs on the way back.

That is quite a long time. If people can cross the 1st or 2nd link in minutes (or have MRT access), JB property prices will shoot up.

20 minutes is from causeway via EDL

changi point to tuas is also 50km on pie.

I have never heard of Malaysians wanting to retire in sg as well.

However I have heard ALL of them will work here until savings GAO GAO and go back malaysia.

Of course la. Who so kumgong to retire in Singapore. If i am malaysian i will also retire in jb. What's the point of retiring in SG and seeing your saving deplete faster and faster as the years go by?

Now JB quite expensive compared to furthur up north. Only good for semiretirees who need to come back occ for work. If not retire furthur up north is cheaper.

people are reaching the causeway at 5 am so as to get to their workplace at 8.30 am.

they leave their workplace at 5.30 pm only to reach home at 9 pm. The cycle continues.

like i said, retirement is ok. but if you want to stay there and work here, you got to be real tough.

like i said, retirement is ok. but if you want to stay there and work here, you got to be real tough.

We used Tebrau shuttle ie the train before. Actual crossing only 5 min but customs clearance another 15 min.

Most people like 90% understand some form of simple english la. The 10% that don't are usually the older 60-70 years old and above which you are probably never gonna deal with anyway

I personally like KL or Penang more than JB.

I lived in Malaysia for several years and I find living there to be very comfortable.

Nice place to retire, but not so nice being a locals though.

may i know which area you stayed in KL?
do u find KL cost of living to be close to SG levels?

penang is nice … more compact, comfortable public transport & easier to get around.

I personally like KL or Penang more than JB.
