I’m looking to shift to M1 from circles in a weeks time since their bespoke plan has sim only esim and 5G, but I’m wondering if anyone has an idea on how real is their promise that this plan will be 100GB at 19.95 forever? Seems very unlikely to me that this will really be forever, especially since their sim only plan doesn’t seem to have lock in lol.

eSIM is NOT compatible w/ 5G.
5G must use 5G SIM card, and pay 5GO Plus Booster $5 monthly.

Go and see the latest bespoke update, esim IS compatible now. I’m using circles life 5G with esim, looking to transfer over to M1.

i did double check by talking to M1 CS today. Today i changed my CORI plan to a cheaper one and CS also explained and gave comparison w/ bespoke plans, etc. He clarified that 5G will cost extra and not available in eSIM, either w/ Bespoke or CORI.
I understand circlelife is using M1 network but that doesn't mean M1 5G also can use eSIM, at least for now.
M1 website did write is available in eSIM and sim card but it does not say both options are for 5G.

I mean I don’t know what to tell you but you can see the terms of the bespoke plan here: https://shop.m1.com.sg/content/bluesky/sg/en/landing-page.html

Sim only can choose esim or physical and after that you can choose how much data you want, and as cheap as 17.95 for 80GB and all with 5G.

It’s all part of the checkout process when you choose bespoke plan 🤷‍♂️

You sign a contract with M1 stating that the price will be fixed at $18.64 before GST for as long as you continue with M1. You will need to pay for 5G after 6 months though ($2/month).

$19.95 include 7% GST. GST hike, it'll go up too.
5G Access free for 6 months, thereafter $2/mth until further notice (again, include 7% GST).

Caller ID chargeable at $5.35/mth after 3-6 months from signup (again, include 7% GST), unless you're CORI customer, then you'll get for free (until further notice for bespoke?)

I tried to port my circle life number to M1, not able to have 5G on eSim. I think I will stick to circle life for the 5G eSim.

iPhone 14p
  1. M1(sim) > 5G (Standalone enabled, 5G auto)
  2. ST (eSim) > 5G (no settings needed)
Allow auto data switching.

M1 connection is still spotty as hell, I've frequently have no service randomly while using the phone. M1 5G continues to have no internet connection despite showing available bar + 5g icon (I suspect that since there's is signal and 5g, the auto data switch doesn't happen, and I cannot use get online unless manually switching)

Never had such issues on 4G, but their 5G is terrible. I think even with the 6mths later for 5Ggo, I prob will end up jumping ship likely before too if its not resolved.

Oh yeah, forgot about this because I'm on CORI 😝

You need to check see if it really connect to 5G SA when using SingTel. I used to have problem connecting to SingTel SA and can connect to NSA. It show 5G logo when connected to NSA making it difficult to know on the spot whether it connect to SA or NSA. But after the outrage, my issue have been solved. Now able to connect to SA.

is there is a huge difference between real life use of 5g and 4g?

for a normal users with no gaming, does it have any significant differences?

Even with gaming, there's no significant difference. Maybe just a slight latency advantage.

Yes. In areas of extreme congestion 5G can support more users.

In Orchard yesterday I couldn't use any internet even with full bars 4G. I forced my phone to connect to 5G SA and could get 300+Mbps.

so when more jump onto 5G, there will be less congestion on 4G?

With the same number of users, 5G will be faster than 4G.

The real benefit of 5G isn't the single user speed (realistically who needs 1Gbps+ on a phone) but it's the speed when it's crowded (eg Jay Chou concert)

As 5G takes off, telcos will move spectrum/bandwidth from 4G to 5G, like they did with the transition from 3G to 4G. So no, it’s unlikely 4G will get faster than what it already is today.

I am staying put at 4G.

No point going 5G at the moment.

I am on 5G plan with SH for 1 year and no point. Just that the plan is similar price after CIS so I am ok to be Locked up for 2 years.

my 2 other lines going at Gomo 4G (50GB/$18) and Circles 4G (50GB/$10 data only).

$7 more per month for 5G doesn’t give me more goodness but more trouble.
