How will the selection package be like for SOBF? The available units are spreaded all over the estate...

hey guys, congrats to all whom had gotten a good number, to those who didnt, dont feel disheartened.. maybe your luck is preparing for something better?

btw i was wondering if any of you guys have plans to visit a fengshui master to have a "consultation" to see which direction your house/entrance should face etc?

im not that obsessed with such things but figured better safe than sorry if it doesnt cost much for this "consultation", so if you have past experience or have someone to recommend.. please share with me/us!

My friends went to a FSM in hougang mall (2012/3) and ask for advice on which unit to choose based on the floor plan and block layout. It cost $100 plus (can't really remeber the exact amount)

Yup, me too first timer and uder MCPS. Really lucky to get this number. Selection flat starts from end August. Actually noob in all these flat selection.. Dunno wat wind direction etc... Can see the flat avail at hdb website ya?

You can go to esales.hdb.gov.sg/hdbvsf/eampu05p.nsf/0/15MAYSBF_page_1905/$file/about0.html#, click on flat details, AMK and than you sort accordingly to the rooms and ethnic than you can see the block and units available.
I'm not good with wind directions also. but maybe google works?

It usually cost $100 plus up to a few hundreds near thousand depending on what you want.
$100 plus is of course just choosing the unit and if you want them to help you with the inner stuffs than it will be more expensive.

Not to worry. Last SOBF in nov/dec 2014 there was alot of leftover 3rd gen apts that no one is taking up (because nowadays people rarely want to stay with parents).
If you dont get it this time, try again next sobf, i think they will keep releasing these 3rd gen apts till they are all snapped up

Hi, got Q no:4x/50 for Bedok. I have a resale flat when I bought it ages ago when I was a PR. So I have to sell my flat within 1 month if I selected a new flat, amirite? Hope to select a flat I desire.

thanks buddy, and yes just a simple one on where should the house/entrance face etc to aid on the selection..

as for placement within the unit will be later, if i manage to get reserve the unit i want/need.

got recommended to afew FSM now, one of them is Master Chew near chai chee area.. can't find any reviews though

New Aircon for Home

Please do not buy Aircon from Courts. Their installation workmanship is very bad. This pic is an installation from Courts at my friend home. My friend told me it is useless to complaint because Courts unable to control their installation team well. It seems like Courts face difficulties to find suitable workers to do this job.

What are the chances that I may get to select a flat? What is the typical dropout rate for SBF?

Correct for all question..

MCPS is just a priority scheme, not a grant scheme..Live near parents grant is only applicable for resales.

It depends on which ethnic quota you fall under. If you're chinese, it may be harder cos it will be 8x/60, not 72. But be positive, you never know (sorry forgot to add that i'm assuming you're referring to bukit merah 5-rm, cos thats also what ive applied for...)
