Ah Heng what they want is your connection diagram to set up the NAS and your router. Not your NAS and router pictures bah![]()
i have remove it already, no longer connect since it doesntl work , do you want me to connect it back.ok then what happened? is ur nas connected to switch/ router?
so nas connect directly to router now?i have remove it already, no longer connect since it doesntl work , do you want me to connect it back.
shoudl i get another 2 brand new lan cableWa TS you still struggling with your NAS
1. Do a soft reset with the NAS powered on - use a pin on the RESET area at the back of the device till it beeps. This will reset your network settings / admin password
2. Connect NAS to router w/ cable - it should now get IP address from the router via DHCP
3. Find and connect to your NAS via browser - set a new admin password
4. Connect to your router via its web interface - and allocate a static IP for your NAS on the LAN
5. On the NAS web interface network settings, set this new static IP / network details
6. Reboot NAS
7. Check NAS IP address via NAS web interface and the router web interface
8. Cage off the area around the router and NAS - so your Mom doesn't power either of them off again
yes,so nas connect directly to router now?
did you follow through the whole instruction for mode 1 reset?yes,
but still cannot connect
now i charging my notebook as i have not used it for a long time , as i tend to use ipad more as it more portable.like that u can try connect direct to pc,
then u redo the network settings in the NAS admin page via web browser.
arbo do a mode 1 reset? https://kb.synology.com/en-us/DSM/tutorial/How_to_reset_my_Synology_NAS_7
your nas should be plug to your router/ switch instead now.
Can I ask where does the black lan cable connect to? I can't see it connecting to the Asus router.the black color cable is the lan cable from the nas to the router.

Really speechless to see this.
TS complain cannot detect.
TS can you answer me the following:
1) Which is the router? The white one or the black?
2) Your NAS is connected to the white one?
this is precisely what I want to say.if he is using the black colour cable to link the nas to the router, how come I don't see any black colour cable on the router?![]()

ts last time refuse to connect nas to network, own self go see guides to self configure direct lan connection to pc. then hit with an issue don't know how to resolve...Seriously I out of here, until TS understand where he is connecting.![]()
