If there is no TP installed, then MR has to make an arrangement with OpenNet to install the TP (at an additional charge) first before the installation. Thus, the lead time will definitely be longer depending on OpenNet schedule.

Normally the TP is installed beside the TV point so just double check again.

Which ISP are you using for your Internet?

Now Opennet change the approach already.

They can just state fibre ready to your building but no TP installed in the unit. Only when u sign up service from RSP, Opennet will then come and install TP for you. Yes, still free for first 15m.

May be new way to stop wastage as TP installed but then never utilize in the end.

That why I mentioned that OpenNet has to come down to install the TP first before the ONT installation by MR.

Hi there,

I'm an existing Singtel 100mbps with contract ended.
Interested in porting to myrepublic gamer 1Gb plan.

Would like to have this transfer as seamless as possible with minimum internet downtime. Singtel will need 7 working days for termination.

Question:
1) Am I eligible for the $200 porting over promo?
2) Any install fee, and any chance of wavier on that?
3) Would like to only start canceling my singtel fiber and terminate at the same time as myrepublic goes live, or as smaller gap as possible. Can this be arranged? Estimated install date if i subscribe now?
4) Will a router on top of modem be provided? If so, what brand? I'm interested in getting my own router asus router rt-n56u @ IT show, will this work?
5) Any special promo for signing in IT show than online?
6) My main concern on internet usage is overseas surfing/video streaming (mainly china/us) and gaming ie pps, qvod, dota. I don't really care much about local-local speed. Not exactly sure what "Video Streaming + Gaming Priority" will enhance the experience, will be glad if a little more details can be provided :)

Thanks!

1. nope, the contract buy back is for customer who still tied down by 2 years or less contract with their previous ISP.
2. $58 OTC, no waiver
3. Estimated date i would say apr/may but june will be a better cushion.
4. ONT box will be provided to use at no rental charge. we are selling n56u at $69. cheaper than getting at it show.
5. same promo :)
6. custom route optimization to game servers :)

PM you :)

Hi wiwi, there is no more refer a friend promo at the moment.
maybe you like to wait till the new op co connection 1gbps to be up before asking for tracert results as current they are still on NC opco.

I just got a call from MR that the activation of the 1GBPS plan is delayed for 3 months. Is this normal or has anyone gotten a call about this? I was under the impression that the activation can begin in March 2014...

I already have a fibre ready point in my house as i am using Starhub fibre at the moment and i just don't understand why the delay can be so long

I guess I'm not the only one out here that MR have not gave me a call to scheduled a date in provision/install the ONT in my house. I was told that my installation date could wait up till the month of May.

I expressed that my contract with Singnet is going to End somewhere at the end of March thus I was told by MR that I would not be entitled for the buy back contract.

As MR is delaying the installation thus I'm put in a spot to pay for my FULL subscription for my Singnet BB once my contract end on this coming March. :s22:

Being in this situation I guess MR is putting me back in re-considering to go back with other services providers since they can't deliver my installation on time.

No doubts the package from MR is attractive but waiting for the commission of MR fiber optic services are getting way too long and unrealistic should it even go all the way to May. :o

I guess I'm not the only one out here having this problem.... :s12:

no offence to anyone, but somehow, everyone feels that they are special or different from others, and has the priviledge of getting the ahead of others. I guess this is due to how many are brought up where you are drilled to think that you are special...

I do agree that MR does have a lot to improve on the way they launch this 1Gbps plan and how they are selecting the beta users, and how they are delaying the installation, and a lot are feeling that we are kept in the dark.

Its not a good feeling, and I am in the same situation as all here eager to get in.

But then, we do have to note too that from the beginning, MR has said that the installation STARTS FROM Q2, with some lucky ones in March. Q2 starts in April, btw.

There are many points where delay can happen, especially when it comes to OpenNet.
And becoming and OpCo and run your own systems backend can be a really big headache.

But I would appreciate MR to be more open about things though, instead of keeping quiet, or until people actually ask then a reply is given (sometimes can be delayed a few days)

Not complaining about anyone here... just hope all can cool it and give some slack... relax and enjoy the off line world for a while

You're right about the part on being left in the dark. Some of us signed up early and still haven't gotten any info other than an email saying to wait until March for more info or a phone call. Would be nice to hear about what's actually going on with regard to the network upgrades, preparations, etc.

There is a lack of proper communication updates to all the users who has signed up for the new plans and this negatively impact the (or potential) subscriber impression of MR. For now, I do wish MR can shift to a higher gear to launch this service as soon as possible.
