Yes

Also, nowadays Windows laptop got CISC and RISC chips. CISC cpu are your traditional Intel x88 instruction sets, AMD Ryzen are also CISC processors

RISC processors are commonly referred to as ARM chips. Snapdragon CPU etc.

They are not compatible with each other. Most Windows software in the world are running on the older CISC instruction set. Hence, if you buy the newer ARM chip, the old software needs to run under emulator

In short, if you choose an ARM Windows laptop, might as well buy an Apple MacBook Air, since it is also an ARM chip. You can run Windows through virtual machine and emulator

Fwah piang oi , this huan lagi more cheem

Moi ish lao unker noob on laptops , only know simi Intel/AMD/NVIDIA or i5/i7

Oh no, things moving fast nowadays. Qualcomm snapdragon chip got laptop CPU version already. Kinda popular too, since it consume less battery, so longer battery life (similar to MacBooks M series chips)

unknown shop, best to buyer beware

$1.5k not a small sum, safer to look at official asus store or reseller

Acers are usually the more affordable (read: cheap) laptop options

Ultra 5 is the latest Lunar Lake Intel CPU. It is more power efficient (consume less battery, so your battery lasts longer), and it comes with NPU to help AI software.

Just becuz its listed on Fairprice online doesnt mean its available for sale at NTUC outlets. Fairprice online nowadays machiam become lelong platform like Shopee and Lazada where 3rd party sellers can list their products for sale and shipping and fulfillment are borne by the sellers themselves. And in this case for the Acer Laptop, its sold and delivered by Acer themselves.

Moi ish lappy noob, so quite dunno where to start from specs or function wise

So nong story short, any MS Windows laptops that "worth every cents" for a $1K budget ?

Preferably something notch more bigger than 14" as moi hab space constraints , and at least a 24/512 for futureproof use

Thinking wanna use the SG60V to get a lappy, but the Big 3 major stores and Challenger all dun accept so bopian later need use from GSTCash
What is 24/512??

TS got time go see see I remember got laptop under $1k for basic use.
Gaming laptop wise definetely above $1k.
Go for at least AMD Ryzen 5 with IGP will do for basic use.

Example this around $600.

https://www.harveynorman.com.sg/com...14-inch-laptop-green-grey-e1404fa-nk262w.html

Once you get GST voucher can just go buy.
Actually the RAM can upgrade or not.. I see the 8GB is like sibei ridiculous... bare bones minimum should be 16GB... sweet spot should be minimum 32GB
