HWZ: Singtel’s heya stops taking new customers, sparking questions about the future of the MVNO *updated*​

It is looking very much like heya’s days are numbered. Shilpa Aggarwal, Vice President of Mobile, Customer Solutions at Singtel Singapore, said that heya has offered customers a flexible and affordable mobile plan with local and roaming data.

“To give them even more value and rewards, we are upgrading them to the Singtel hi! Plan, where they can enjoy enhanced benefits, including 250GB local Singapore data and 250GB roaming data for just $12/month,” she said, “For seniors, we are introducing a new Senior hi! Plan at $5/month.”

heya customers will be personally informed of the seamless transition to the Singtel hi! app, with migration starting from 30 November.

Unlike the S$5.09 Mobile Access for Seniors Plan that is only applicable to recipients of the IMDA Mobile Access for Seniors Plan redemption letter, the new S$5.00 Senior plan is a prepaid one and offers:

• 200GB of local data
• 200GB for Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand
• Up to 100 IDD minutes to 9 destinations
• 300 local min talktime
• 50 free SMSs

More like Heya customers days are numbered.

Not sure if you have time to port out to another provider like Maxx and then move to Zym or CMLink. Both got 50% offer until 30-Nov-2025.

Both are using SingTel network and will have 5G SA soon, should be a better upgrade for heya users than SingTel hi! 4G plans.

I got a few Heya, so probably I should because i got not enough 5G sim to do testing.

I was randomly testing Heya again today, i know i am near the base stations.

But indeed SingTel hi! Plan is super confusing as it mixed PostPaid plan and PrePaid Plan in the same website.

S$15 5G SIM Card -- prepaid as per the terms and conditions. The data bundle is only for 28 days.
S$12/S$10/Senior hi! Plans: monthly plans, PostPaid plans as per the terms and conditions.

That is not as per IMDA regulation sense of Prepaid in Singapore.

M1 Maxx is a Postpaid plan.

Prepaid plans: you can only have three lines under your NRIC.

If we follow this differentiation criteria, only SingTel, M1 and SIMBA have regular prepaid services.

StarHub's new Prepaid S/M/L plans allow 10 lines so it does not qualify as Prepaid.

Tourist SIMs are also prepaid.

I have added your Singtel 4G result and new Heya 4G result to the first post of that thread. But I'd like to add at least the info of the phone used. Location is optional if you do not remember.

We will automatically move your heya plan to Singtel hi!. You don’t need to do anything until your next top-up.

• If you are on a heya monthly plan, your plan and auto-payment will continue on Singtel hi! with the same benefits.
• If you are using a one-time heya plan, your current plan will continue on Singtel hi! with the same remaining validity, data and minutes. After it ends, just top up a Singtel hi! Plan.
• If you are 60 years old and above, you can top up the $5 hi! Senior Plan. Please ensure your NRIC age is updated correctly.

Even though the new Singtel hi! S$10/S$12 and S$5 senior plans are considered as PostPaid plans in terms of classifications, the support channel is from the Singtel Prepaid team. You can ask for support from within Singtel hi! app.

I have a friend asking whether to port out or go with the migration.

I suggest him to continue with the migration and see how it goes since he seems to be okay with heya. If not happy can always port out.

Personally I do not think it is worth to go with SingTel hi! monthly plans, except the S$5 senior plan.

All in all, I will say it is better to avoid SingTel hi! S$10 or S$12 plans (PostPaid plan as per classification but with Prepaid level support or actually less support than Prepaid).

hi! Senior plan may be worth it but I am not qualified...
