There's a reason it's cheap. Singtel network, volte, 100GB for $10, free caller ID, free incoming calls. It's not for everyone.

I was at the end of Singapore and connected to Malaysia. Send SMS from Singtel to Heya.SG. Received.
IIRC, I did that twice.

Correct. If this is too difficult for you, then it means that you shouldn't choose Heya.

I personally like the heya approach as it allows me to control costs. Think of it as driving a manual car versus driving an automatic car; each has its pros and cons.

Auto CC deduction means that they need to invest in a backend that can store credit card details securely. They have obviously chosen not to go the way of MVNOs like Zym and Vivifi. They are competing purely based on cost, the fact that they are very unlikely to go bankrupt since they are part of Singtel, and voLTE.

I suspect though the voLTE advantage would disappear soon as MVNOs are likely to be equipped with voLTE as they are phasing out 3g in July 2024 next year.

I suspect this is BS, but I won't be able to confirm until my next trip overseas, which would NOT be one of the "three" countries they offer roaming to. That would be interesting if I can receive SMS in say, Japan, or Australia.

Not really a violation of their T&C, since they clearly stated that you can rollover only a maximum of 200GB. Maybe they are enforcing it more strictly now, but I know it isn't universal as I have 216GB on one of my lines.

Personally I'm not a fan of roaming data; with Dual SIM phones it is far more reliable to just buy a local SIM card. Having a local phone number also has some advantages with ride hailing apps like Uber and Grab.

The keywords are "extra 58GB". The logic is that you can forfeit anything after 200GB but u have to give me first and then remove it.
