if the area applied is near to parent, will it have higher chance of getting better queue number?

apply thru mcps. like that you will have a chance in 30% of the allocated slot for that particular BTO and if you nv gana, you will have another chance that will ballot with the rest of the free for all

huh? 6 years so long !?

if you look at the plot of land for the marsiling grove bto.. it is actually not suitable land for building homes yet..

before they start building the flats.. they must first make the land suitable and stable for building high rise flats..

e.g. flatten the land and making the soil stable for high rise buildings.. also.. studies have to taken to see different conditions like when heavy rain how will the excess water run-off?

so initial planning will spend some time before the initial ground works begin

Cos I got a selection date for Feb bto on 30 July.
Was hoping can get result for this sobf in July before my selection date.
Now stuck already.

you can give up your selection date and go for the july sobf.

everybody has 2 chances before having to sit off the penalty period

SOBF 2017 May

heard there will be some changes to the coming SBF in May, 1 single pool rather than balloting by area. But when to c the SBF just now n saw that it is still the same old format. Ballot by district. No changes ...:(

Quoted from the HDB press release on 07 March 2017:

"Balance flats offered under the Sale of Balance Flats (SBF) exercise, currently held twice-yearly, are popular among first-time home buyers as these flats are closer to completion or already completed. To enable those with more urgent housing needs and are less particular about location to have quicker access to a flat, HDB will introduce a new sales mode for unsold balance flats. Unsold flats that remain after SBF exercises will be offered for sale at regular intervals via ballot, with priority given to first-timer households.

HDB will offer these flats for balloting in one common pool, instead of separate selection queues for each town and flat type. HDB will launch the first such exercise in the second half of this year. More details will be announced nearer the date."

Seems like this new balloting format will only apply for those unsold balance of sales units, so it will be like a "balance of balance of sales flats". Probably the first round should take into effect for those unsold balance units from this May 2017's SOBF exercise.

Hope this helps!

I think the new format is expected to be implemented sometime in 2nd half of 2017.
