thanks bro! :) So to be more practical/conservative, if we want to plan our finances, we should look at the estimated completion date right? Cos balance of the purchase price, stamp duty and other miscellaneous costs will be paid upon collection of key
Yes, please be prepared to sell your current place and move into the new house around the delivery possession date :) I have helped people pen appeals because they were caught off guard by the ECD before. Of course, if HDB informs you of otherwise, it is within their right and just follow their directions. They will normally send a letter about six months before keys collection.

edit: I mean estimated completion :s13: mind fart

I must say 3-room flats in Geylang are very expensive slums. Woodlands applicants like myself would be living in a 5-room slum cos it costs about the same as a 3-room in the former :s13:

Is the negative marketing a bid to reduce the competition and oversubscription :D we saw this happen at Punggol Northshore with chimneys at Pasir Gudang :s13:

Hello kyleung86

I assume you are in yr 30th but from the way u comment below sound like you are in yr early 20th .
Do some research Dude , 2RM is for single mostly and ppl like me intend to stay single . Not we are poor as you mention as HDB have restricition . Nowaday , most BTO include 2RM and are u going to avoid ? Then please go ahead with Condo or private .

Hey guys, I was going to apply for the Geylang BTO, so I talked to a friend who's living in nearby Cassia Crescent.

What he said shocked me. Yes the place is supposedly quite far from the chicken pen. But always have suspicious character loiter around the void deck. His neighbour's daughter also kena molested at the Guillemard Road bus stop once. This is even though the blocks are quite new.

I also asked my friend who's living at the Greentops project at Aljunied. The block is a mix of 3-room and 2-room flexi flats. And... it's just awful. It's a den of single senior folk and poorer families (with crime and drug problems etc) and no place for a pleasant home for a decent family.

As most of the 3-room flats in the Geylang BTO are in similar config (i.e. full blocks of 3-room and 2-room flexi), I think the environment will be very bad. This might just turn into a slum. I think the 4-room flats at Dakota Breeze are still okay, but the prospect of staying in a 3-room there is just too scary. I will not feel safe for my child.

I wonder why the government doesn't know about this 2-room and 3-room flat problem. Why not mix it up? Why create slums? If got ethnic quota why don't have an income quota where a flat have all kinds of flats that cater to different stratas?

Walau singles/senior citizens & those that buy 3rm suddenly kena labeled as having "crime and drug problems"
So only those that buy 4rm is considered a pleasant home for a decent family?
Damm insulting sia. People work their ass off for their flats and you call it a slum.

I'd be more worried if my child lives next to you than living in this environment.

Singles cannot buy matured bto. Only non-matured.
3 rooms have two type of income ceilings iirc.

Yeah, like what I said many times before, 2 roomers are just fine but kyleung86 is just stating his/her honest opinion and it's good to consider inputs from others as well.

From the data on hand, the demand for 2 room flats for singles are overwhelming. The government's decision to build more 2 room flats should have come earlier but better late than never.

Personally, I think having a mix of different room types is great. It doesn't mean people staying in an executive mansion have better behaviors and vice versa.

At the end of the day, this is our country. It will only work for all of us if we out our hands together to build it. It's healthy to iron out our differences and only then we can progress as one people and one nation :s7:

The location is less ideal compared to Geylang as it is between two MRT stations, though its still good. There are a few more plots left on the Bartley side closer to the funeral parlour. Those might see even more cool demand, maybe except the one right next to Bartley MRT.

Mainly because of the Geylang plot. However, there should be a plot in Bidadari that is next to Bartley MRT station.

lol at the lynch mob mentality, so many people jumping on the wagon to crucify this guy, say he is like "20th" of age (BTW insulting to young people in their twenties), and this one is suddenly revealing that she/he was considering moving her/his child to to be this guys neighbour

Seriously lah, the guy made a mistake in phrasing his honest opinion, its obvious his crime is a lack of tact and not a real intention to insult 3/2-roomers.

My fellow countrymen, if somebody touch you accidentally you don't have to be super-defensive and feel like your sensitive ego is being destroyed, then whack this fella. OR worse, see somebody else whack this fella and all rush to join in.

if not, LOL

He gave his opinion, i gave mine. I don't see how this is called crucifying this guy.

There is a huge difference between phrasing it wrongly and being obnoxious.
