It can be done and it will work. But as you know wireless environment changes every moment and you won't know when your Singtel TV will be affected due to such changes. The technician is merely providing you the most suitable choice so as to avoid potential conflict with their recommendation.

Now you mentioned your Singtel TV is on adsl and your fibre is separately provisioned, I believe both entities are of separate account. You might wish to call 1688 to ascertain if both are separate or bundled together but provisioned on different infrastructure.

Alternatively instead of using WiFi mesh, you can wired in an external trunk of cable to your room so that you have assured lan quality. This is a much better option than WiFi mesh honestly.

If both are different, clearly your Singtel TV go app wouldn't work if it's connected to fibre router.

Thank you so much for the reply. Yes I'm aware that wired connection will be the best choice. But my house doesn't come with data point and wiring from my living room Singtel router to my master bedroom will be of 2 ends of my home.

What will be a better option is that, I'm planning to run Ethernet cable from my Singtel router to wifi mesh 1 much nearer to my master bedroom. And set up my wifi mesh 2 in my master bedroom. The interference/wall from wifi mesh 1 and wifi mesh 2 is reduced. Is this much more viable ?

I checked with Singtel and they told me is 2 different account and my Singtel tv go app won't work for 3 home view users. Disappointment

You might wanna explore with Singtel to bring the Singtel TV account on board with fibre broadband. Not sure if it's possible but if yes, it will be easier for your go app.

I suggest you explore wiring your house up with ethernet cable. It's not expensive to wire up because it's a life long investment and it will really safe you alot of hassle. Moreover, nowadays they know how to not damage your wall decor and at the same time conceal it well..

Both operators cutting cost, dropping and not replacing dropped channels. Universal Channel will also cease on Starhub by Jun, assume no replacement ch too.

Hello guys,

I was using ADSL mio tv, it was using Pace A5520n router.

Then I upgraded to fibre and they gave me Arcadyan elite AC1900 router.

The Pace router also works with fibre. My question is; is there any degradation in quality if I continue to use the Pace router? Reading from the specs Pace seems pretty low end router capable of only max 70mbps N connection. Is this enough to stream good quality mio hd TV channels?

Thanks in advance!

if its just the singtel tv stand alone, there shouldn't be a difference since singtel tv at most will only utilise about 10mbps even on fibre. But pace itself is an old product, its more recommended to use ac1900 elite for better experience leh..

Thanks. I think probably I was one of the last subscribers to be given the pace router. I had signed up for Singtel Mio TV in Jun 2014, just 3 years back and then recontracted every year, they didnt replace the router at all, until now. Even this time, the technician initially told me, they wont replace the router, even though I upgraded to fibre and he tried to configure the pace router, but it didnt work, that guy didnt realize that he needs to change it from ADSL to Ethernet mode :s13: So he gave me the new router.

can screenshot your IPTV settings?

It should work if you set the vlan correctly for the port you wanna use for singtel tv.

If port 4 is provisioned for Singtel TV, that means all the data points of the other rooms need to be connected to that port 4 for multiple setboxs?
Port 4 --> unmanned switch --> data points in multiple rooms. Something like this?
Then how to get internet in these rooms if internet is port 1 & 2? Blur ... thanks to advise

ONT, ST modem/router in electrical box kind of setup

If port 4 is set for Singtel TV, then that port only recognises Singtel TV. All other lan devices like pc will not get Internet.

If you using the singtel router and 3rd party router in this manner: ONT - SINGTEL ROUTER - 3RD PARTY ROUTER (AP), then anything u plug into the ap will be recognised.

The rule here is that singtel router has all 4 ports universal for Singtel TV and Internet while 3rd party router does not code that way..

Singtel router all 4 ports internet and TV? That clear things up.
So my 3rd party router as AP or unmanned switch can get tv + internet in other rooms right?

ONT-> ST router->Data points->3rd party router/switch->internet & tv
