Mouseover flat details and select which town you want to look at.

I am also contemplating apply BTO or SBF for my parents 2 flexi

The tampines SBF seem to have a lot of flats to choose from but not sure what amenities there are esp in Tamp NORTH? Anyone know where we can see the floor layout for the SBF? I only saw the site location and # floor.

For Bedok BTO, the completion dates so far behind.. by then they wil be quite old and the layout quite crappy.
Quite stress to decide all these for them.

HDB earn a lot of free money from clueless people who don't bother to read in this exercise. If you know what I mean.

Can someone enlighten me on this:

Say 100 SBF flats, 50 first timer applicants, 50 second timer applicants.

SBF flats 95% for FTs and 5% for STs.

In this case, will the 50 FTs ballot first and get the first 50 number? Or all 100 applicants ballot in the same pot?

All ballot together..

ST can get front numbers also..

And if i rem correctly from one of the post last time, once FT has finish selection, HDB might ask ST to come select the rest..Could be wrong thou..

Remember guys, there's no first come first serve basis! Take your time and evaluate the whole situation first. Stay near parents scheme die die must put coz the chances you get will be higher or better.

But put alr also doesn't mean will mean better chances. Am a first timer who applied under MCPS so it's still about 30% or lower.

My impression is that a percentage of the flats available are reserved for those applying under those schemes?

Meaning if you apply under those scheme you get priority over those that do not qualify for those schemes and get first dibs over them. Of course, you'll still have to fight it out with those under the same scheme, but it's still substantially better than those without schemes.

Let say 85% reserve for FT, then from here the various scheme will come in..

But from what i've seen for the past few years, seldom see anyone using scheme getting a good number be it for bto or sobf.. :s13:

On paper, it looks good..In reality, quite the opposite..

Any idea how does the ratio for application rate works? Don't really understand about it. Let say for first timer is 0.1 and for second timer is 2.0, What does this means?

Which takes priority though? FT or scheme?

e.g. does a FT with a priority scheme go into the same pool as a FT without a priority scheme? Or will they set aside a percentage of flats to be given to FT with scheme first, then the remaining will go to the FT pool?

AFAIK, let's say for SOBF flats, 95% will be set aside for first timers, while the remaining 5% are set aside for second timers.

Assuming there are 100 flats, that means there are 95 flats available for FT and 5 flats for ST.

Based on your example, 0.1 application rate for FT means that there are 95 * 0.1 = 9.5 FT applicants, and the 2.0 application rate for ST means that there are 5 * 2.0 = 10 ST applicants.

Let say got 100 units, 85% reserve for first timer and 15% for 2nd time in non-mature estate.

First time only 0.1 ratio then only about 9 applicants vying for 85 units, for 2nd timer with 15 units allocated for their group and u have 2.0 = 30 applications vying for 15 units..

Aka 0.1 applicant to a unit for FT and 2.0 applicant to a unit for ST..

This post below should explain abit of it..

This is how the ballot system works. The BTO ballot is done via a computerised system with a built-in algorithm to ensure fairness to all applicants while reserving a certain percentage of the flat supply to those with priority schemes. The priority schemes thus improve an applicant’s chance of being considered for the ballot, but do not assure the applicants of a favourable queue number ahead of non-priority scheme applicants. During every BTO exercise, applicants under the various priority schemes will be randomly shortlisted before non-priority applicants. All the shortlisted applicants will then be assigned a random queue number.
