I personally do not find it a "reasonable" deal unless for the installment. One can get the cheapest SIM only plan and buy the mobile phone elsewhere which may be slightly cheaper than the retail price from Starhub.
Not everyone is able to afford to pay full lump sum. In fact, I've heard about people signing 2 year handset contract plan (not SIM Only with installments) precisely cos of that reason, even though it make no financial sense. some even get previous year's iPhone cos of that.

Living month to month sounds like a disaster in the making, but let's not talk about it much here.

Same for buying Condo, Landed Properties or even HDB. Paying by installment is not “reasonable” coz of the interest.

best to pay upfront lump sum everything

Presently Harvey Norman is selling $100 off for purchase with installment. It’s surprising that apple is giving discounts for their products. Only kumkong to buy from apple direct now.

I was considering tpg sim only but I need to be reachable all the time so didn’t take a gamble. StarHub served me well for a decade

Anyone experienced unable to recontract with same plan?

first time I was told cannot recontract to same plan before contract ends even when shown eligibility. Can only re-contract to other higher plan if before contract end date 😡

Yes. Happened to me.
In the end, I went online to recontract and collect the phone at the same shop.

yesterday I tried online but cannot, call the cso and they told me have this rule from StarHub.

I just try online again today and the Recontract went through 😂 StarHub app really buggy and cso don’t know their own regulations 🤣

How is Starhub reception compared to Singtel?

Also, for Starhub, are they using 5G SA and for normal 4G, any throttling?

Thinking of switching my lines because Singtel pricing for recontract not good.

I have both 5G and normal 4G needs.

don't think you have much choice with Starhub, 1GB/$5/3 days or $19/day unlimited

Edit: POSTPAID Plan above

StarHub Postpaid? DataTravel or Unlimited Data Roaming.
StarHub Prepaid? Happy Roam.

Too many plans, can't be naming all out. Details are typically available in the website itself.

Could you move to a SIM only plan when your 24mth contract is not due (but no fee to recontract already) ?

Or could you port to other telco without penalty?
