I almost forgot to make appointment! Only logged in the website to book appointment 1 hour before the deadline, and latest available is 5th April. My reno can only start maybe late this week or early next week. My contractor said may not be able to finish necessary job for Opennet to do their jo. I a bit LL, if really cannot then I have to pay for a later date.
Now headache is where to place the FTP. I am going to LAN-networked the house, and will custom-make the false wall and TV console for the TV wall. I want the LAN to serve a cheap NAS for now, and maybe in the future I will build a home server for more purposes. So, I want to have something that can allow me to do more in future without much addon. Need some advices here.
1. This is the simplest, everything in living room on TV wall maybe. Then I will just ask contractor to hide them behind false wall, and keep them in 1 of the TV console drawer.
Cons:
i. it will be difficult for to reach the FTP, if necessary to troubleshoot.
ii. the intended drawer is much shallow than the rest because of a big pillar at one end of the wall. It should fit ONT, RG, a NAS, but definitely cannot fit a normal ITX casing should I want a home server in the future.
2. Also simple, no need to hide in storeroom, easy to access as well. But, I cannot put Wireless RT in storeroom, so the connection will be something like FTP-->ONT-->RT(in storeroom as main router)---------> GB swith(in living room) -->AP(living room). Is this connection achievable?
3. I am leaning towards this one, however not sure about the if this connection works or not. FTP(storeroom)-->ONT(storeroom)------>Wireless RT(living room)
For 2 & 3, I can just put in a GB switch in storeroom in future and keep my home server inside there.
Any advice? Did I miss out anything?
