Does anyone know how the warranty works? Do we have to bring to the vendors or directly to the brand service center? Anyway, anyone got the Acer Aspire V Nitro? I'm considering the GL553 and the Aspire V Nitro. Greatly appreciated if anyone could give me an opinion on which one I should get!

depends on which warranty u get. on-site/carry-in.

on-site: vendors send down the technician to asset the issues and if hardware issues and no parts at hand for exchange, take your lappy and go back to fix. done, call u to where they should deliver to you. if software, they will try to fix for u on the spot. ( but if other issues not under their jurisdiction. they will say u breech of warranty contract blah blah not gonna fix or just say u have to contact software vendor to fix your issues)

carry-in: ask u to come down to the service centre and asset the issues and see if u can wait for them to repair it( minor hardware issues) else as u to come back to collect when they are done(major hardware issues). if software issues, same as the on site.)

The V nitro is $300 more with the key difference being an upgrade from htc 1050 to 1060 so it's up to u if you need that extra power.
You should go down to the roadshow to actually see the laptop to compare aesthetics to see which one u like more.
You may even buy a completely different laptop from these two when you see those laptops at the roadshow.
Some ppl here were considering the GL553 or FX553 but end up buying the Hp pavilion 15 at the roadshow.

I've been looking at the HP Pavilion 15 as well, but the small storage is one of the cons, but wow.. PCIE SSD. That's a plus. I'll really need to see the difference in aesthetics in the GL553, V Nitro and Pavilion 15. Is there anywhere I can find these laptops? I honestly hope to get it before the roadshow if possible since Temasek Poly's roadshow is on 25 April. Speaking of which, does anyone know if I can order it before the roadshow itself?

I think u can order direct from the website itself as it is already updated but i'm not sure.
As for where to find, you really have to go and hunt.
Just walk into any laptop shop u see and check with them. I saw that many places selling the old model GL553 with a last gen gpu and a non rgb keyboard though.

The asus zenbooks are the thinner and lighter but lower spec version of the FX/GL553. Considering the fact that it is half the weight I would say it is worth it if you are looking for portability.
The zenbook offered at the IT show were cheaper than the poly roadshow ones for the same spec though, so if you look around may be able to find better deals.
