POSB Everyday Card

Thanks for replying. Didn't know that so never select this category last year. Just to confirm, all purchases like electronics or food, are eligible for rebates ?

Not sure if I can tag along to this same thread. My question is more on the POSB Go! a debit cum ATM card where I can withdraw cash from ATM.

Due to Covid, I very long time no go POSB/DBS ATM withdraw monies. Today just notice the expiry date is over. Call CS they told me the replacement card for POSB Go! will now changed to Passion card so the card will not reflect the Go! word. Due to many cards come in I may have mis-look and treat them as just another of those pre-approved credit card. If the card print the Go! word I would have noticed it is a replacement.

Anyone who has former POSB Go! now change to Passion card can feedback it is same as POSB Go! before? That is on top of being a debit card it also double up as a ATM card? ATM to withdraw cash is still crucial as the coffee shop and hawker centre I patronize still take cash. Also go convenience store buy $1 stuff still take cash etc.

yes it is debit card with atm, nets and mastercard function and enjoy passion card benefits

Passion card is just a straight up vanilla plain debit card that is also ATM card+nets+MC, just that it's branded under Passsion Card and has Passion Card benefits.

Thanks all for clarification. First off let me say I already have POSB Everyday card. Now for this formerly known as Go! now known as Passion, I am now asking this funny unique combi of debit + ATM + Nets + Mastercard. If it is debit it directly deduct then why is the Mastercard component in it? You mean this card when pay that time can toggle different mode? Tell the vendor I want to use it as debit or Mastercard as credit ?

Actually Go! card was sent to me becuz they sort of deprecate my previous ATM card. So the only function I have used with this is to go ATM withdraw monies. For credit spending I use the POSB Everyday. It seems this Go! now known as Passion is more "powerful" than POSB Everyday?

All these cards from banks are so confusing. So many cards all with so many different benefits when my use case is I just want a card to go ATM withdraw monies. And some ATM always only give 50 only I so angry as I always press 40 but that is another topic.

Do you know what is a debit card? Debit card simply means you need to have the money in your bank first before you spend. Credit card is the exact opposite, you owe the bank instead and pay later. Passion is a debit card only.

Basically places that don't accepts nets, but accept MasterCard payment u can tell cashier to pay via MasterCard. It will deduct thru your bank account that's linked to the debit card. If your bank has zero dollars or insufficient amount, the transaction simply fails.

DBS Passion Debit card is a co-branded card with People's Association. Benefits under passion will be enjoyed as though you're a passion card member. Everyday credit card has its own set of benefits. Both are 2 different thing.

Of course I know what is a debit card. But in this case the formerly know as Go! card is debit + ATM + NETS + Mastercard. This combi of debit and Mastercard is what confuses me so this card is two mode?

Just now I flip behind it got more logo like Cirrus (what is this?), Maestro (what is this?), Transitlink (this I know), ERP(this for ppl drive car in Spore will know). Why a card so many features? I hold Go! card for 10 years only today I take a close look at behind as I said I treat it purely as ATM card only.

Posb Go and Posb passion are mastercard debit card. They need funds in account for the transaction. Whereas mastercard credit card is spending on your credit limit. More features means the card can use for different purpose e.g. can use at cashier that accept nets only, can clock to dbs 8% promo using mastercard, can use for passion card benefits etc. Maestro and Cirrus are less used features, can google for it

Finally I get my answer. mastercard debit card , mastercard credit card. So Mastercard is a company which offer both debit and credit functions just like Visa. My earlier idea was Mastercard like Visa is always for credit function.

Thank you now it all make sense. The card cannot be both debit and credit it can only be one. The Mastercard and/or Visa logo is the company name. Call me ignorant but I really only know today. Imagine I use so many years Mastercard,Visa but I guess one learn new stuff everyday.

do you know that everyday card can double up as ATM card and also NETS? so you technically don't need another card. it takes money directly from your bank account also

Thanks for sharing. Since both cards never charge me annual fee I use lor. My use case is must have ATM feature so whether Everyday or Go I am ok.
