Is 1 Samsung 990 pro 2tb enough for my gaming needs? Didn’t know of Klevv brand, will look it up!

Thank you Sir! deep down I know I’m overpaying and FOMO got the worst of me, even if I bought the astral I will feel more buyer’s remorse. Well what’s done can’t be undone I can only embrace and hope my first DIY will be a success with tutorials from YouTube. My first pc was built by pcthemes, currently looking at price list of bizgram, fuwell and tradepac. Now every parts I google or YouTube for tier list haha

😭 let this be an expensive lesson for me

no sir I’m just an ordinary salaried worker earning below median
Its ok. U got what u want and thats the point. Hope u can build a nice PC with ur own effort.
reminds me during the past days how I DIY my own PC too. And now is much more easier to DIY with all the youtube videos.....

Ya. Work + play can get 9950X3D. Play only just get 9800X3D. But since budget is not an issue for you, i assume, since you can pay S$5K+ for a 5090FE, just get the best 9950X3D.

looks good.
ram look for 48gb klevv 6400 or 64gb team experts 6400 can save some

actually if you first time diy, no worry to buy prebuild for such expensive budget :o

a lot of small steps that experienced builder will take note.

No Sir i am a salaried worker and it’s the most I ever spent on myself, I admit the FE is overpriced, poor thermals and worst of all no warranty, wouldn’t have got roasted if I didn’t buy impulsively 😢

hmm.. let me try to chip in. In my opinion

My thoughts
  • SN850X WD 2TB Gen 4 (more then sufficient plus it's with DRAM)
  • 9950X3D + B850 Tomahawk. if my B850M Mortar having 12 + 2 + 1 (60A) can drive this processor, I dont see why a B850 Tomahawk can't which is 14 + 2 + 1 (80A)
  • is not a must but I have tested these rams plus they are not expensive. KingBank Memoria RAM DDR5 48G Kit 2 x 24G CL28-35-35-76 @ 6000 1.45v (SK Hynix M-Die)
  • eOiHJx6.jpg
  • mSfSdFr.jpg
  • Okinos Cypress 7 - quality case and the wood finishing is good
  • 71VIMY3QEaL._AC_SX522_.jpg
  • As for LCD AIO, as mentioned get something which LCD is detachable. SAMA Q70 or Thermalright Hyper Vision

now my point. Instead of buying brands, buy on quailty products. I feel X870E is overkill for you as mentioned just for gaming. The B850 Tomahawk will save you heaps. Next will be m.2, do you really need gen 5 m.2. you wont feel the diff if you are just loading games or to play games. As for rams. the more ram capacity with loser timing, you will feel the lag, with tighter timing like what I have mentioned on the KingBank rams. they are blazing fast. next is case, not that Lancool 217 is expensive or what, yes is very modular but the wood finish to me is a joke. the above case has a nicer finish, plus with swivel glass panel. On Liquid AIOs with LCD, get something which the LCD is detactable. In the even if AIO Died, you still can use the LCD if it's detachable. As why SAMA Q70, search for it in youtube, you will know why. or if you fancy big but squarish or rectangular shap.. the Thermalright Hyper Vision not only provids that, it's a performer plus screen can detach.

Hi Kleo! I just watched finish your review on tomahawk x870e again for the 2nd time because I like the build quality. If you recommend b850 then I might get the strix b850G but I might still spend more for tomahawk X870E in case because I would like to learn video editing in time to come. For the m.2 I’ve ordered via @Koenig168 reccomendation at Amazon for less than $200. I was actually wanting for you to review the lancool 217! Is the wood finishing lousy compared to the cypress 7? Actually the first case I wanted is king95ultra but it’s not available in SG, I also saw the video of you testing every possible fan mounting for the best airflow which happened to be the default fan setting. Which case do you reckon has the best air flow for heat dissipation? I will take a look for the 2 AIO that you recommend as I only know how to google tier list for parts then watch youtube/reddit review haha, thank you Sir for your recommendations

ar.. my content is X870 not the X870E version of tomahawk... to me is still overkill lol.. as for m.2 Gen 5, most default m.2 heatsink are not cut out to take the heat. except for X870E-E strix and the X870E Carbon. once Gen 5 m.2 heat up after 73°C ~ 74°C it will start to throttle. Video editing also don't need Gen 5.. Gen 4 more than sufficient. I am using Seagate both Firecuda 530 and 520, which are not top notch in speed but is more then sufficient. As for the wood finish.. it's just me. I have done wood finishing before and pretty particular on the finishing.

Of course the Lancool 217 has good airflow. As you have 2 x 170mm fans at the front for intake of air. but when I remove my unit, I am unhappy with the wood finish, just like the Fractal North.. when I look at how the wood are treated with top coated. I shake my head. As for Cypress 7 from Okinos, when I open it before passing it to another reviewer (I let him do the review as I am pack with other content).. the finishing is uniform and the walnut grains solid. I am waiting for the case to return to me for review :p
Sample and look at the walnut.. so beautifully done. the process, sand down > cealer x 2 layers > sand down higher grit sand paper > cealer x 1 layers > sand down lightly or wet sand > dry > follow by top coat x 2 layers

now compare to Lian Li 217. observe the panel and the finish.. very rough, did sanding but lower grit sand paper > cealer 1 layer > sand down > top coat 2 layer.

For AIOs, most are using Asetek Gen 8th pump. As why I recommended you the two liquid AIO. 1st the LCD can be removed. if AIO died. you still can use the LCD panel. 2nd the application are more responsive, use lesser background process as the processor is on the LCD itself. 3rd both liquid AIOs perform well on AM5 9950X or 9950X3D. Anyway both processor dont run hot at all as compared to the 7000 series.
well I personally like the SAMA Q70 the LCD is super big lol.. ok example

if you want to know how it performs, I have used a hotter chip 7950X with PBO settings. no aircon and result solid 82°C if I change it out.. easily 78°C with PBO settings

Though am also doing Lian Li products, but honestly compared to the rest of the liquid AIO with LCD, I will go for the two brands as mentioned above. I have not done the content for ThermalRight Hyper Vision 360 but I have tested it on a friend's build 9950X. I like the screen, it's big. Anyway if you still want Lian Li, the only liquid AIO which impress me most is the Lian Li Galahad II LITE <-- this cooler is a little devil in disguise but without LCD.
