"future-proofing" a larger fridge custom carpentry space is stupid, i'll say it again. this is akin to doing custom bed frame as king size, when you have a queen size mattress, just so that you can possibly in the future upgrade to a king size mattress. it is not just about the large gaps at the sides of the fridge if you do this, you also sacrifice adjacent cabinet dimensions when you do this. kitchens nowadays are already very space constraint, losing even 20cm of additional storage and countertop space NOW just so that you may possibly upgrade to a larger fridge in the FUTURE is a foolish decision.
so its smarter to custom to current fridge size, and when u want to upgrade your fridge, you just dismantle the entire carpentry and build new one?

why even considering dismantling the carpentry? upgrading/replacing a fridge doesn't mean you have to go up in width, there are plenty of fridge models in the market that have similar width dimensions.

Building carpentry for Fridge is silly .. consider the fridge actually needs good air flow .

Actually I think it's a good idea to build in some excess
I did so and didn't regret it when I got a bigger fridge.. so YMMV, cheers

Did you buy it? If yes, from where? thanks
Yes. went with R-WB640V0MS instead because of the Lesser depth, dun wanna it to protrude too much.

Got it from Harvey Norman, with 9.9 bulk discount cos I also buy other stuff like aircon and oven (s)...

Does anyone know if fridge doors are reversible? I need to look for one that opens to the left as the fridge will be located on the left of my kitchen wall.

Ya have. There are certain models that can switch the doors opening direction.

LG & Samsung both have quite a few of such models, the other brands too but selection not as plentiful

Do check for applicable surcharge to "reverse" the door hinge

Does anyone know of any fridge that has 3 or 4 ticks. Thought of using the $150 voucher that Govt gives. Some kind of go green thingy.

Go Best Store to claim. It has few models of different brands like Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Hitachi, Sharp. Many varieties. All have 3-4 ticks for certain models which depends which type of fridge you need. Personally I prefer Japanese brand.

Can my friend who has the NEA voucher buy a fridge and deliver it to another address other than the ic address? She doesn’t need another fridge.
