You should get new update via OTA. Currently I think Android 10 is scheduled sometime 2nd half this year for Note 8. But no new for note 8 pro yet.

Any bro can advice which xiaomi phone to recommend: Redmi note 7, 7 pro or note 8 and note 8 pro.

budget around $200. Reliable is my prime consideration. No gaming, only for facebook, WhatsApp eg..

If you want nfc abit difficult with that budget if you don’t want nfc but a basic phone note 8 and note 9s will be recommended as seems SD will have longer and more freq support as reliability is you prime consideration.

If you want full function phone ie nfc and all the works, I think note 8 pro will be closest to your Budget.

Note 8 is at a good price already since it was launched last year. Note 9s still new so the price not much discount. I have the Note 8 and very happy with it for normal use.

I got a Note 8 for family member, replacing an aging Note 3. But of course if your budget can stretch, by all means Note 9S is good too, depends on your priorities.
