Received email to sign up. The High upfront cost and no fixed line is a deal breaker. Currently already having a contract with my current ISP till end of the year

Just received email from Simba to participate in the pilot test for Jurong. Given less than 54 hours to respond before it supposedly close, it seems.

In Jurong as well and received their email invitation to join their Jurong Pilot broadband. However, my contract with Whizcomms is still in force till July 24. SIMBA give $50 incentive, to be credited to my mobile line account. However, I think still not worth it after factoring existing broadband cost, the activation fee, the new broadband cost. So I guess I just have to wait till July and might as well, as by then should have more feedback on the reliability of SIMBA broadband. Besides, Whizcomms is going to give me speed boost to 2.5G [aggregated] at no additional cost. So either continue with them come July at $21.80/m or jump to SIMBA at $20/m.

Same here… should I sign up for Simba? Will they get IPV6? Forwarding ports is my main concern

Better wait for the confirmation of whether IPv6 working or not. What is your use case? IPv6 may not help you depending on your use case. It is strange that SIMBA does not seem to offer Static IPv4 add-on like MyRepublic/ViewQuest yet.

Actually from the question you asked, I tend to think you should avoid SIMBA for now.

For me I will avoid SIMBA because of CGNAT. I will also avoid Whizcomms "fake" aggregated 2.5Gbps plan because of the use of ONR. Better 2.5Gbps offerings (may be a bit more expensive) from other ISPs may come later this year.

IMHO once you ask about the question of IPv6 and port forwarding, you do not seem to belong to the targeted customer of SIMBA and Whizcomms...

But then again, this is just my personal opinion, which is more in line with "Power users". For typical users, I think both SIMBA and Whizcomms should most likely be okay as long as you are okay with the limitations (eg: no digital voice for SIMBA).

Aggregated 2.5Gbps is useless for 99% of people

Just want open port so can climb fast. No gaming and I’m the only heavy user in the house. My plan expired so it’s time to change, can get lower cost and faster why not?

I guess eventually there will be a solution for port forwarding

SIMBA $20 exclude GST, so it's the same price as WhizCOMMS .!
