The reply sound like copy and paste from a computer textbook.
Anyway for normal user who just use it to surf net or watch streaming movie or normal day to day work, CGNAT or not is not relevant.
You'd be surprised more and more website would throw up blocks if they detect you are behind a proxy etc and this is more so since your IP address is shared since many would block due to suspected DDOS or other malicious users.

Official confirmation that it is CGNAT, no IPv6. Guess it's a no go for me.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting SIMBA Customer Support.

We appreciate your interest in with our SIMBA Broadband service.

Currently we are on private dynamic IPv4, no option for a public IPv4 address yet.

Kind Regards,

Chris

Cheapest I can think of is the Xiaomi BE7000

Personally I'd recommend TX-AX6000 instead though, then flash a custom firmware.

Noob question

Now I under m1 500 mbps plan.

So the OpenNet point on the wall can support 2 broadband service.

Say if I also sign up Simba - using the other OpenNet point.

After that, I terminate the m1 broadband when contract ends. Can I use this same port to sign up other broadband (say WhizComms) next time?
Yup, so i.e. Port 1 currently M1, and you signed up with SIMBA on port 2.
Once you end/terminate contract with M1, it should be realeased by M1, and you will be able to sign up with another ISP.
But do note, NLT activation fees etc. not waiveable since charged by NLT, and not by ISP, unless ISP decides to depending on promos/offers provided.

Xiaomi BE7000 -- better HW spec, no English menu, can use Docker to extend the FW features

Asus TX-6000 (China version of Asus TUF-AX6000) -- better Asus FW features, can swtich to English menu

TUF-AX6000 or TX-6000 are based on MediaTek chipset so there will probably be NO Merlin FW support. But it is possible that there will be official OpenWRT support in the near future. Now there is snapshot release support.
https://openwrt.org/toh/asus/tuf-ax6000

As of now, it is better to stick with Asus stock FW than going with OpenWRT snapshot.

Anyone with a non-china router can access https://test-ipv6.com/ and give your score?

China routers block ipv6 so only brands like ASUS or OpenWRT flashed firmware can test
Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) appears to be STARHUB-NGNBN Starhub Ltd

Since you have IPv6, we are including a tab that shows how well you can reach other IPv6 sites. [more info]

Your DNS server (possibly run by your ISP) appears to have IPv6 Internet access.
Your readiness score
10/10for your IPv6 stability and readiness, when publishers are forced to go IPv6 only

But my wifi mesh is china TP-Link

Newer Chinese routers will support IPv6, in fact, I believe the wireless router vendors are mandated by the Chinese government now to support IPv6.

In any case, so far no confirmation that SIMBA supports IPv6, in fact, based on the answers from Customer Service, it is using CGNAT without static IPv4 add-on and without IPv6 support.

Only M1/Starhub/SingTel support IPv6 now.

More information about IPv6 can be found here.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/ipv6-discussions.6976522/

BTW, Singapore ranks pretty low in terms of IPv6 capable rate at about 20.6%, mainland China is at 33%. India tops the chart and Malaysia is No 3.

please note that we do not have an information if or when the IPv6 will be available on our broadband. Stay tuned for more information, and thank you for considering SIMBA for your connectivity needs. John

Sorry, forgot to specify that I'm interested in finding out results for Simba users, I also score 10/10 on StarHub lol

Simba scores 10/10 on their mobile network also, so was wondering if their fixed network can score 10/10

My AX3200 from Xiaomi had IPv6 completely blocked out of the box, only after flashing OpenWRT then it worked

Agreed. Pilot users no benefit ( $50 credit meant got to sign up simba mobile line, ) ,might as well sign up with the public after getting feedback .....

Likely the other telcos will react to the competition and come up with competitive deals too.

ZTE BE7200 Pro+

Interestingly this ZTE BE7200 is the one I am buying from Taobao at RMB599 (plus GST and sea shipping fees). But I will use it as an AP (not as router) after OpenWRT virtual router (Intel N100 mini PC with multiple 2.5G ports, running Proxmox Virtual Environment ).

Even though I will recommended people to look at Xiaomi BE7000 for the specifications but I really do not like the form factor.

Last time I chose to buy Huawei AX3 Pro and not Xiaomi AX36000 for the same reason. Of course a bit regret later since Xiaomi AX3600 proved to be a much better router than Huawei AX3 Pro.

Xiaomi BE6500 Pro looks better than Xiaomi BE7000 as well but has a weaker CPU.

TP-Link 7DR6560 (BE6500) also looks better.

i'm able to apply for it as part of jurong trial, however they still do not have fixed line. Hopefully, before my ISP contract end, they can have the fixed line service.

Just got off the phone with a lady from the ONT sub-contractor.
She said it’s possible to self collect and install the ONT after NLT appointment.

Has anyone done this before? Just submitted a request as directed through their online webform. But it normally takes a while for them to reply..
