hey guys quick question, about to sign up right now. payment quarterly and yearly what's the difference? no discount and no additional perks, why sign 1 year payment? so can lock in current price in case of price increase in future?

Too bad your experience is bad but the senior's plan I subscribed for my mother, no issues whatsoever. Trying to spam everywhere in this forum, just becos you had a poor experience with SIMBA, I can only say the nick is very appropriate.

Be wary of SIMBA. My dad used SIMBA for his SIM card and has non-stop problems ever since. Bad customer service, their method of payment is 100% sketchy, the list can go on.
to balance out the negativity, what's the issue with the payment mode? For early adopters they had reception issues, but that's more of SG being too pampered and have high expectations 😂 (not wrong, but for a new telco back then don't be too optimistic)

Simba mobile is good.

But if you are more interested in the $25 10GB Roaming, just get eSIM when u needed to go overseas.

Can drop back to any MVNO that's $10, 100GB. Still got 1 to 2 GB for roaming.

Else drop to $10 Simba, and upgrade when you need to go overseas.
Or just pay $4/GB, on top of the free 1GB.

Can just use 2 months and terminate right? And sign up again when going overseas again

Router question. I read the 50+ pages but didn't see this asked.

Can the TPlink AX5400 (A72, not pro) fully use the 2.5gbps bandwidth? I have no need for wired connection just wireless.

Seeing a lot of it sold online for cheap.

https://www.tp-link.com/sg/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-ax72/

Hmm, the question has been answered multiple times.

In order to fully utilize SIMBA 2.5Gbps plan, your router needs to have 2.5G WAN port. TP-Link Archer AX72 does not have 2.5G port.

Recommended router to go with SIMBA 2.5Gbps plan.
1) Recommended: Dual 2.5G ports
This is required if you have 2.5G wired devices now or in the near future, one for WAN and one for LAN.

Local version with warantty
Asus TUF-AX6000 (around S$329) and GT-AX6000 (around S$450 BNIB from Carousell), etc, depending on your budget.

Asus China version if you do not mind no local warantty
Asus TX-AX6000 (China version of TX-AX6000), very cost effective version

If you do not mind no local warantty, China version WiFi 7 routers (no 6GHz band, no 320MHz channel width), then you can look at the following.

Xiaomi BE7000
Xiaomi BE6500 Pro
ZTE BE7000 Pro+
TP-Link TL-7DR6560 BE6500

2) Single 2.5G WAN port
This is only applicable if you do not plan to have 2.5G wired device.

Local version with warantty
Asus TUF-AX4200 (around S$229) and Asus RT-AX86U Pro, etc, depending on your budget.

I would not recomend TP-Link Archer AX55 Pro (around S$229, AX3000) or Archer AX72 Pro (around S$300, AX5400) as Asus TUF-AX4200 is cost effective (around S$229, AX4200) and better.

3) List of China version WiFi 7 routers here.

I'd better update my post about China WiFI 7 router.

Chinese WiFi 7 router options (no 6GHz band, no 320MHz channel bandwidth, got MLO, 4096QAM, MRU, etc)

Huawei BE3 Pro (2.5G port version, 512MB RAM): RMB499

Xiaomi 7000 (quad 2.5G ports, good match for 2.5G plans): RMB799

None of the ISPs help to install the 3rd party routers.

RT-AC88U is compatible with SIMBA but it has only 1G WAN port.

Please refer to above post if you want to get a router which has 2.5G WAN port.
