Does TPG have a change of ownership service?

Current plan from another telco is not under my name. Or I have to transfer the ownership with the other telco first before signing up?
I don't think they do ownership service.

The last time I port my dad line have to pay the old telco to do it before it can be port over.

Select M1.

When you are collecting the TPG sim card at the collection point, let the staff know that you are porting from Changi Mobile.

Show them the Changi Go app, the mobile plan page.

They will take a picture of that app (showing your mobile number and the Changi Mobile logo) and submit into their system.

Within 24 to 48 hours, as stated, the port in will be completed.

Welcome to TPG. 😎

I have been using TPG for more than two weeks now. Previously was also with Changi Mobile. The TPG data connection is usually full bar 4G+ and full bar 4G, much better than Changi Mobile.

You will definitely love TPG as much as I love TPG. 😊

Hi experts,

I'm planning to port over my parents Singtel prepaid to TPG's elder plan. Is it supported?

I think you need to move to SingTel Postpaid then can port to TPG Senior Go Digital Plan.

TPG only allow cross-port to 50GB SIM Only Plan it seems, but I might be wrong.

This is correct. If you really want to have senior plan and with TPG, you have to switch to Singtel post-paid plan first. I enquired for my parent when we switched from M1 prepaid to TPG. But seeing the troubles and cost involved, so I just went ahead to the TPG $10 plan.

For Singtel to switch from prepaid to postpaid internally, is there an admin fee? For M1, there is a $30 which is why I didn't change to postpaid first.

Oh, if I can port to 50GB SIM only plan for them, then I can do that for the 1st mth and subsequently change to TPG senior plan since there's no lock-in right?

I read about switching Singtel pre-paid to GOMO post paid and then port out to other Telco after first mth. I saw the GOMO plan $18/mth is quite the turn off. My parents want to keep their numbers if not I already help them port over.

Another thing, both my parents prepaid are under my dad's name, can I take over ownership or cannot?

Once you are on TPG, there's no way to change your plan. There's no mechanism to do so.

SingTel Prepaid, you can transfer over to your name, as long as you never reach the 3 (active) Prepaid SIM Card limit (across all carriers) limit.
Check with SingTel for the outlets available for the transfer of ownership. It's free for Prepaid, but both the current and new subscriber must be present (and bring the relevant identification).

Take note that if you want the senior plan, it has to be under a senior's name. So, if the line is in your name, you cannot sign up under the senior plan (unless you are also senior citizen of course...)

TPG also has no number that you can call for support. It suddenly occurred to me that if i lose my phone, i would struggle to cancel before my line gets misused. Anyone here has had that problem?

Yes, i can second that, at least that is what i am told by the TPG staff at Orchard Central.

I wanted to port over from M1 prepaid to TPG postpaid, yes can be done. Then I ask the TPG staff if M1 prepaid is under my parent's name, can it be port to TPG senior plan? The reply is no. Only way TPG will allow senior plan is to sign new line. I am not sure if this is the same for the other 3 telcos though...
$5 $10, I give up. I didnt want my parent to be held down by prepaid line's limited data, so TPG $10 is our best option for now in terms of calltime and data. I find it hard to explain to elders on difference between data and wifi, so I left data/wifi/bluetooth default on, and lock the TT app so it won't be closed by accident.

I realise they have more service centres these days, so I guess its the old school way of walk-in? I was surprised they have one listed opposite Tiong Bahru Plaza too, though I have no idea where it is...

If you're referring to the Jalan Membina address, it's listed in TPG website's list that it's a Buzz Shop, a convenience store.

It's the ah beng handphone shop behind the Buzz Shop, Buzz is at the bus stop. Ah Beng HP shop is next door on one side to 7-11 and the other side is a bakery. Ops timing is 1100-1900hrs.

If one exit from the MRT station, the shop is directly facing the exit.

hmm TBH I am not expecting a small neighbourhood shop to be a service centre. My impression of a Service Centre will be a one-stop place where they only service for the particular brand... Such shop should be more like an authorised dealer rather... Maybe I am biased...

Nah, I won't call that a service center. An authorized dealer at best, but it's not even under that list. Just listed under Buzz.

It's just for very basic like payment? I won't know, coz didn't really look. I tend to even avoid dealers for all telcos, only going to their main offices and in this case, TPG@313.

Strange enough they do list it as Service Centre, instead of authorised dealers.
But ya i agree, I will suggest to go to their proper office to be safe. I went to the Orchard Central to do the prepaid-card port over. I think only that and Kaki Bukit can do it.
