As long as it is able to attain speed equivalent to LTE or 4G plus low latency, why bother 4G or LTE?

if your 4G is not working, even a 3G or H+ that works is better

To a layman, as long as they received good cell signal reception, they will not be bothered whatever speed derive from LTE, LTE-A, 4G or 4G+.
I would like to sum it up, for the case of 4G outside of USA (they are confusing over there).
So for all of us in Asia or even in Europe, when phone connected to LTE derived technologies, be it LTE, LTE+(LTE Advanced) or LTE Advanced Pro, they are all treated as the same thing. LTE+ is just simply using more than one LTE signals at the same time.
So for iPhone, no matter you are connected to LTE or LTE+, it shows LTE by default. The reason that we see 4G showing up on big 3 telcos is because they choose to. SIMBA does not have carrier profile on iOS so it cannot choose to show 4G. By default all shows LTE.
For android, show 4G for LTE, and 4G+ for LTE+. Or just LTE, same reason as iOS, as default for pixel phones or some others show LTE.

In summary, inside USA, 4G is worse than LTE. Outside USA, 4G == LTE.

Very comprehensive write-out.
Thanks for the pointers.

i just update IOS 16.4 simba now can support 5G network
Limited to SRG area as shared by SIMBA CS when I called in.
But from nPerf, seems like SIMBA coverage increased at more areas (main road) now, previously only saw it in SRG NEX area.

Side note: need to push SIMBA to rollout eSIM too. 😬
