Sleeping pill? i tried, scared cannot wake up for work. Took only on weekend for awhile then stopped. what other medicine can they prescribe?

Usually they can prescribe Valium for chronic insomnia. If cannot sleep then it’s the only medication that will help. It’s better to get it treated early rather than delaying until terminal insomnia which is much worse

ah.. we are about the same age.. i'm 49
not sure if you experience the same.. easy to fall asleep but keep waking in middle of night, sleep gets interrupted throughout basically.

i run very regularly.. like 5 days a week.
try to refrain from using device a couple of hours before bed and in bed
avoid caffeine after 2pm if you have trouble falling asleep
hit the bed early cause if you are going to get patchy sleep, at least patchy over a longer duration

maybe you can check if your room temp/humidity may be causing it?
Yes that is exactly what is happening for me. i don't get a full cycle sleep sometimes so i wakeup feeling tired. Is it age issue then? lol

I need caffeine at work though so I reach for coffee in afternoon at times, not everyday though. Do not seem to be the reason coz on days I don't, I still have sleep issue.

i switch on aircon every night lol, otherwise it will be too hot to sleep.

I'm gonna stop using my phone and hope I can fall asleep for longer hours.

1) Buy yourself a comfy mattress, bedsheet and blanket
2) Make the room cooler
3) Put on an eye mask or make the room darker
4) No meals 3-4 hours before sleep
5) Regular exercises can help
6) Free your mind
7) In the day, do not sit or laze on the bed
8) Read a book

Stop drinking water after 6pm. If thirsty, drop a mouth will do.

Stop reading phone.

Make your bed comfy. Temperature etc.

It might be hard initially. Sleeping is a habit. It takes time.

yes i think aging is definitely a factor as a few of my friends also having similar symptoms

if you are using aircon.. the air may get too dry and cause you discomfort waking you up.. just a possibility

In range of 40s to 50s. still quite fit for age... abit prediabetic based on last test result. Trying to eat clean also...not easy.
Only way to eat clean is to cook/prepare yourself. Steaming food is pretty easy and fast. Besides vegetables, steamed salmon and beef ( marinated with a bit of light soy sauce) actually taste quite good and clean.

Nowadays I feel sleepy when it's just 8 plus 9pm. Don't know if it's coz older now. Last time can sleep for 8 hours or more. Now if I go to bed earlier, I wake up after a few hours then cannot sleep. If I went gym or v tired from work, can sleep for only an hour or two hours more.

I try taking melatonin but don't really work after a while. Anyone like that also? Any suggestion?
I find Korean ginseng helps. You can get those easy to drink tubes, around 5ml each. Take it 1-2 hours before bedtime. It helps me sleep more soundly. But it’s a bit heaty so you have to eat more fruits and drink more water.

I cannot do pull up already. Can do many during army days. Now, maybe I can only do 5 lol
5 is not bad liao. You go and train every other day, 5x2 or 3x3, 2-3 mins rest interval. You will get stronger, then adjust the rep count upwards accordingly.
