Just ported over to Giga, holy smokes, the speed is horrendously slow.....
I think even my 56k internet speed from 10 years ago can load google searches faster.... Giga's speed bloody times me out...

Gonna see how it goes for the next few days, if it persists then I wouldn't hesitate to switch away...

Hi,

By default when you insert the GIGA simcard most phone will auto pre-load with Starhub APN. I have friend who never face any issue using the starhub APN.

For myself I getting a lot issue on Starhub APN.

Have you configure your device to use GIGA APN?

For iOS devices,
Go to Settings, Mobile Data, Mobile Data Network
Under APN, enter
APN: giga
Everything else is left blank
Instructional APN video for iOS:

For Android devices,
Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
or Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
or Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
Add the giga APN:
Name: giga
APN: giga
Everything else is left blank
Instructional APN video for Android:

Hopefully your issue is resolved after using the giga APN

Yea, it was already Giga APN from get go of activation.
Tried the dashboard "having issues with internet connection" thingy. Nothing changed.

The shocking thing is, I got timed out from Google search, due to slow speed(WTFBBQ???). Never ever did that occurred, since moving away from dial up modems.

If the speed ain't gonna improve, I am just gonna move away and go back to the main big 3 line providers. Gonna give it a few days to see if things improve.

Try reboot the phone ? And check if network icon is showing 4G/LTE or H, if starhub signal is not strong in your area, it will drop to H speeds ( very slow )

I have used giga for the last 1 year. So fast it's been fast 99% of the locations i have been to.

One of my friend has this issue like u. The speed is worst than 3G and he has to log a ticket with Giga and they did something at their backend this resolved the issue.

I remember he told me something like SIM profile was not correct at their backend.

I tried to port a number from singtel to giga but the app is now stuck at processing payment screen. Anyone experienced this before? How do I know if the number porting went through or not?

Anyone here transferred from Giga to TPG recently? Like to know if any significant difference in terms of network coverage and speed.

How great it would be if Giga could do a transfer of ownership...
Yes, they wouldn't even do it for compassionate cases, like transferring numbers under my deceased father to my name.

Speed and coverage Giga would most reliable and faster.

Do note that TPG need a phone that support VoLTE in order to make call (else have to use their APP to call out and receive call)

My 2year contract ended today and i signed a 40gb sim card plan with giga. Starhub will deliver the sim card to me on Sat morning and do port in to existing number.

So when do i insert the new sim card? After they deliver to me or after they inform me the port in is successful??

I have separately saved my contacts somewhere

For Port in, the activation is automatic. Don't need to insert sim card to start the activation.
For normal cases, the port in will be completed before the next morning.

you can do it either way. Wait till original sim card has no network, or insert in the new one first and use the temporary number till the port in is completed.

I dont think i want to use the temp number. So i only insert the sim card after i got it and they have notified me of successful port in ?
For port in does it include weekend? Since i get it on Sat morning then the port in will work on Mon?

Just use your existing telco until you don't have signal. Once that happens just pop in the new SIM.

you will rx SMS to inform you that port-in has done.
You can use your existing SIM card until it no longer can access, then you put in Giga SIM card.
