anyone actually ran 10 maxed runs of linx with avx on you overclocked settings?
found it impossible to not bsod without putting extra voltage even at 4.5ghz....temps will hit 90 degree on nh-d14....i am looking at 1.36v load and even passed this once, on next reboot up will fail with the same settings....very random.

sb-e c2 malay batch not as easy to pass extreme stability tests....i wonder if cybermind costa rica batch is better..

i guess so... a little saddened that i used to run and pass 10x linpack max settings on my bloomfield and yorksfield oc and when i rerun again a few days later, still pass. Afterwards, i just throw all tests aside and use the pc.

this 3930k is guailan, something want to pass, something bsod straight..and this is on a 16 phase motherboard.

btw just ran 1hr of aida + unigine 3.0 as recomended by asus, no bsod, vcore hits 1.36v max at 4.5ghz with max temps of 85 degree..thats it for tests. will be using for my project work, a little jumpy i hope it dont crash.

hey guys is there a diff between quad channel on this mobo and say putting in 4 sticks of ram on an lga 1155 mobo? I hear some ppl say that quad channel is simply just 2 dual channels so in that case even on an lga 775 mobo it runs on quad channel if you put in 4 sticks of ram?

No bro, doesn't work that way, AFAIK, only LGA2011 mobos are quad channel, the rest (LGA775, LGA1156, LGA1155) are dual channel while LGA1366 is triple channel.....someone correct me if I'm wrong. It doesn't matter if you populate all the dimm slots, if the socket type is dual channel, it will run in dual channel.

wow the heat on the 3770K is something else isn't it...

was thinking upgrading and giving my nephew my 2500K board, but having second thoughts now, as my gaming weekends sees the PC on for 48 hours straight like 3 m from where I sleep...

A few things to note:

57C is perfectly good for load temps
that review is prob not using final retail 3770K chips
and... 3770K chip discussion belong more to the Z77/LGA1155 thread actually

haha... lucky for me as its my conscience-free upgrade

57C is fine, but since its like +13C, I'm sure I'm going to feel it given the proximity. one think i enjoyed going from 920 to 2500K was the massive reduction in heat since I have my PC very close to my feet. Since I sit facing my wife she grumbles about it now and then. Was hoping I could go on another upgrade with 3770 and 680gtx and claim its "cooler and consumers less electricty"

know of any reviews that can make this claim with final retail 3770 chips? would you think there is a chance with of a mid-life revision update to tackle the heat issue? or is this just something we will live with as dies shrink further.

So far, after nfs(the run), my temp (using asus program), measures at 40+. Casing (tj11) not close yet n cpu cooler is cm 412 slim. Maybe the 180mm fans below helps on cooling the cooler fins. Will close the casing once i got the hdd case n will montior the temp. Now left with dual gpu (690?) and water cooling if i oc alot. Maybe invest a 480gb pci-e ssd card after bonus n use current 240gb for ssd caching. Then get another 3x monitor with current as the 4th for gaming n video chat same time? Heh heh!

We are completely flabbergasted that this caught fire. This happened after we returned my 3930k from 4.6 to stock. So It caught fire stock with the F7 bios update.

Maybe I WOLS, but I dunno if anyone had mentioned that Keplers do not run in PCIe 3.0 mode on the X79 mobos, I tried it out myself with a GTX670 -

With my HD7970, I saw this GPUZ capture and I was, "WTFF?!"

But forcing the card to run a 3D program that GPUZ had showed a result I'd expected -
