At best case, 1 week. At worst case, 2 months. It's really hard to tell, since it's free shipping that uses regular postal service. Unless you op for courier service like EMS or DHL, which increases the delivery speed to under 10 days including processing, but these increase your cost significantly.

Aliexpress free shopping rarely 1week. Sometimes they process the item alr 1 week before sending. Most likely is 3 weeks onwards.

just wondering about minor stuff...

When battery is charged finish, it will display 99% or 100%?

If it reaches full charge, will it auto cut off the power supply to the phone?

Just wondering ... :)

After using it for the last 3 days, these are my personal "reviews" of the Redmi. Note that I'm predominately a IOS user, but I have owned a S3 before.

Pros:
1. Screen is indeed very sharp and crystal clear

2. Despite only having 1G ram and powered by Mediatek instead of a much faster Snapdragon, its actually quite responsive.

3. Camera is surprisingly good. It excels in shots with sufficient lighting. Using iPhoto to review on my MBP, its as good as those taken with my iPhone 5S. It shouts clarity.

4. Themes: I'm not really into this .. but I'm sure some of you would be spending hours exploring the vast array of ready-made themes.

5. Speaker: good (and loud) enough

6. Price: Dual sim, expandable memory .. Its cheap. Nuff said

Cons:
1. Weight: Its very heavy for a 4.7" phone. It made a big difference especially when you put the phone in the shirt pocket, which you can feel the heaviness of it.

2. Batt life: I do not have any actual data to justify this. But i personally feel it drains faster than my previous 5S. I've already turned off ALL auto-sync options.

3. Camera: Despite having a aperture of 2.2, its horrid in low light conditions. I'm not a fan of using flash for shots, and the results and also speed do pale in comparison.

4. No BLE Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0: In short, my wearable tech will not work as they require Bluetooth 4.0.


Conclusion:
For $169, its a no brainer to grab one. Cept i think this is only the beginning of more bargain budget phones to come.

Questions coming from a Mac environment:

Basically syncing Redmi's photos with iPhoto on Mac. There's this prompt on the phone that allows one to select "photos" access instead of "files" when the USB cable is connected. The iPhoto boots up automatically but its in loading status for an extremely long time. I never actually get it through in the end.

Is there another way? (aside from using a cloud based depository?)

If you are getting ANY Android phone from China, there are 2 things you need to ensure:

1. Make sure it is already rooted and Google Play and Google Apps is already installed for you. By default, China phones do not use Google. You can also do this yourself, but it's easier to let the seller do this for you.

2. If your phone is a 3G phone, make sure you are getting a WCDMA phone, not a TD-SCDMA phone. TD-SCDMA only works on China Mobile. WCDMA works everywhere as long as you are on the right frequency. For China phones, WCDMA phones are typically dual band (900/2100MHz), which will work in most countries outside the Americas (North and South).

BTW, if you are looking at cheap phones, and don't mind paying S$250(still very affordable price), the Huawei Honor 3C is also a very nice phone for the price.
