apparently Windows 10 is a big spiderweb for Microsoft to get information from everyone

it can even keep your email contents

There is an option to defer upgrades. 4th post for this thread. If you are referring to permanently disabling auto updates, I think you will need a tool/hack for that.

Alright thanks! Dint see that early post. It is indeed quite a worry imo, I do not ever install video driver updates from windows update. I only install the driver + physx, no need for the other bloat as I do not use them.

The current driver being pushed onto all users helps to make windows 10 operational, so complains might not be so great. However we all know how certain games work better on certain drivers, or how newer drivers are not always the best and most stable, even if they are whql certified.

I can only hope MS does not force video drivers through windows update.

Windows 10 uses your bandwidth to send other people updates

Windows 10 uses your internet connection to share updates with others across the internet. This feature, called Windows Update Delivery Optimization, is designed to help users get updates faster and is enabled by default in Windows 10 Home and Pro editions. Windows 10 Enterprise and Education have the feature enabled, but only for the local network.

It’s basically how torrents work: your computer is used as part of a peer to peer network to deliver updates faster to others.

You can disable WUDO, but the option is buried in the settings menu for Windows Update under ‘advanced options’ then ‘choose how updates are received.’

Microsoft says that delivery optimization will not download or send personal content and only sends “parts” of the update cache.

You can stop it sharing updates on these types of connections by setting your connection to metered or disabling the delivery optimization feature entirely.

So, take note! :s22:

AVG works. I have AVG and Avira installed on the same PC and both work.

Not a good start to Win10.

Internet very lag. Went to Asus website to DL the latest LAN drivers for Win10. Also very lag.

Dropbox, OneDrive and Mega not connecting at all.

Roll back to 8.1 and all working again.

Anyone same problem? Mobo is Maximus VI Formula.
