Some say fail few times then pass using the extreme right side Egate

yea generally I will go to the egate on the extreme left or the extreme right of the halls

The ones facing front-wards on the left side of the hall are the oldest and have the highest chance of error

If before entering Penang you didn't submit MDAC, then very likely you can't use E-Gate but can try...

If I register tomorrow via manual counter when entering, can I use e-gate when exiting same day or still have to use manual counter?

2 train of thought here. the kiasi kialan ones will tell you best to match the entry and exit stamp.

for me, i will tell you per my personal experience the stamps dont matter. u wannt switch it up, auto, manual, its up to you. just tell them egate not working when they ask, and show them the mdac registration email when they ask.

edit: and btw, ytd night alot of ppl egate failed when returning to sg and need go manual. cant remember, but 2 or 3 failed attempts is straight directed to manual.
if 1st time they ask you to proceed to manual, go to the right side egate and try again. if still cannot, u suay and need manual anyway.
the machines on the right are newer.

Some Officers say can Exit via E-Gate but not always successful.

In my case I prefer to have both Entry & Exit stamps, & try to E-Gate the next Entry.
