Would anyone use a AO Smith 40L tank for a 2 room BTO, staying alone? Or is it better off just getting a better electric water heater?

depends on many factors

1) water pressure
2) heater temeperature needed
3) Rain shower ?
4) hot water for clothes ? for fill up pails to clean floors ..
5) hot water to wash dishes ?

If na for above 4-5 points then get the instant heaters will do

just bought aosmith40ldigital. hopefully is a good purchase.. first time using a storage heater.
anyway.. they are selling basin too at cheap price.. do check it out
I am getting a AO Smith water heater 40L one too. Getting my first one as well. Will let you folks know how it goes! (I move in sometime after cny).

Anyway i brought the piping ports at the bottom which I need else I cant fit a 40L in my common bathroom. As Ariston is available almost every both sells only 30L or 50L and has ports on the sides (when I need at the bottom so depending on what you need). AO Smith is a US brand too so pretty excited to see if durable quality.

Fyi, I brought mine from Lookz lighting/bathroom store on Baliester Road. They just are a reseller so I am sure you can find others if you need a retailer close to you as well.

My Ariston 25l water heater just died. Any recommendation for one stop service to purchase, install and removal.

Thanks.

If you want a similar model,
$339 with GST for an INOX AA 25L one without installation. They sell them at courts, gaincity and many different retail stores
http://m.ariston.com/sg/inox_aa-25

Best to call around to ask about installation costs with bathroom shops and the like. As plumber installation costs can vary.

AOSbath, the AO Smith distributor sells their water heaters with installation at around 120+ each (pricelist someone mentioned above). But they can be the one stop shop if you just want something quick and easy.

will a joven 25l be suffice for 5rm hdb with 1 bathtub ?
Dunno if someone answered this already. But I have asked around about minimum tank for a bathtub. Most folks say at least 30-40L+ would be preferable to ensure enough hot water for a bathtub. Assuming it is shared between two bathrooms.

Else you are left cold waiting for water to boil. Of course, the bigger the tank, the longer it takes to boil new water too.

Is Ariston Andris Slim 20 any good? I got this as a gift but I’m contemplating to sell it as it is quite small for my usage..

Am using this. Ok for my small family. Only concurrent full blast hot water usage will drain it fully. Else if only one person showering, it does the job well.

Just an update.

I contacted Poh Joo Hardware and was quoted $260 for a Joven 35l storage heater, same price as Ariston 25l.

If it is Ariston 40l it would cost $330.

Labour wise, it would be $120 for the same size, same model heater and $180 for others.

The plumber's appointment was a few days in advance as it was near to Chinese New Year and timing was tight. Took about 4 days to book.

I chose the Joven 35l at $260 and labout cost of $180. Finally heater was fixed. Process took about 1.5 hrs.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi.. Any feedback on the Joven 35L?
Is it sufficient for you and your family use?
can share your family size if you don't mind?

I am planning to get a storage heater, but I've been using a instant one since young... Need to gather more possibilities that will happen and decide on which to get. :D:D:D

thanks!!!

Re

A word of caution for using those large water heater tank.

Although the water coming out of the shower head is clean the inside bottom of the tank and the heater tube is covered with calcium deposits and dirt from the water over a long period of use.

This can increase your water bill due to built-up of deposits covering the heater element which takes a longer time to heat up the water, dirty water on the lower side of the tank and, worse, can cause explosion if not careful.

The reason why the water coming out is clean is because it exit from the top inside of the tank whilst the dirty water and deposits stay on the bottom side.

Make sure you have the inside of the tank and the heater element clean every 2 to 3 years

:D
