stayed in point blk before.
used to tower over the whole area and have great views until the newer development came about.
Gets windy at night with the wooo wooow wooo sound. 2 lifts available and every once in a blue moon both will spoil and then you see everyone sitting around cause too high to climb.

When yang that time kept thinking what if i kick the wall during sleep and the wall fall over.....will jitao drop all the way down cause next door is nothing liao

And yes, its a hot bed for suicides. during the peak of the 98 crisis, the 2 point point blks in the neighbourhood take turns alternate mths

Not just HDB, there are no new point blocks for condos either.

The design is simple
Central core is lift shaft, and stairwell, which acts as harden shelter per scdf guidelines.
Then the sky is the limit, at the top roof is connected with adjacent building creating elevated space at the very top

those 5-rm HDB point blocks are huge in size and usually include a large exterior balcony. The units are usually spread out around the central lift lobby. such a good design.

or they built it? or use custom fabs/molds?

iirc, for point blocks last time HDB also offer the home owners the chance to buy part of the corridor for certain corner units due to layout/design quirks right?

Old pt blk... 1 set of lifts serve 4 units per floor.

Newer design serve min 8 units per floor

BTO also got point block

my BTO 12 years ago consist of 2 x 4room point blocks

1 floor only 4 units, like a typical point block
