Btw, for the new full page notification. You can just tap on the "header space" of each notification to hide / expand the content accordingly.

It is particularly useful when you have many notifications waiting for you to scroll and read.

I'm liking the new full page notification now. Full information / content at one glance without opening the app.

But then, totally no notification at all unless you just enable the status bar notification.

That is the only solution if you find that the full page floating and locked screen notifications are irritating.

Just a quick question.. are notifications still edgy (delays, unreliable) from apps in 9.5.2.0?

First of all. MIUI (regardless of version) has this build in Battery saver turn on by default.

That feature, more or less delays notification of some apps if your phone is inactive for a few hours likes while you are sleeping. From my experience, this feature delays YouTube, shopping apps and some other non-interactive apps notifications if your phone is locked and ideal for long hours.

So, some apps notifications only pop up right after you unlock the phone after long period of inactivity.

However, it doesn't affect sms, WhatsApp and Facebook or some other messaging or interactive apps notifications.

Since Max already has such big battery. I actually turn off the Battery Saver feature for all apps. Turning it off will ensure all notifications from all apps come in timely even if your phone is inactive for a long period of time.

For me, based on my usage patterns. It makes no difference to my battery life be it on or off.

Global Stable 9.5.2.0 for both Mi Max / Prime is listed officially now!

You can download the Recovery rom to update now! However, the Fastboot rom has not been listed yet for download.

Yes! But actually, no need to rename to "update.zip"!

Just copy the file to your Mi Max and reboot into TWRP recovery and choose Install pointing to that zippy!

After installation of the recovery rom. Reboot and you need to re-root if you want a rooted phone!

No data loss!

Anyway, both the Fastboot and Recovery rom for Global 9.5.2.0 have been officially released and listed in the MIUI forum.

Checked but latest fastboot for prime is still "helium_global_images_V9.2.1.0.NBDMIEK_20171219.0000.00_7.0_global_18678acae5"

since then, and heard battery sucks, i also let it, wait for rcdm alternative. using old rm note2 phone..haha. what's your plan?

Actually I missed the part where twrp can't be used when porting over from developer to global.. not to mention that I'm going from EU to global stable non-EU. TWRP was nuked and I got back the original recovery. So in the end, I used the fastboot rom and miflash instead.. working normally now

Nope! MiFlash (All Clean) does not re-locked bootloader unless you selected the <locked> option.

You can double check in Develper options.

There's another issue, after I install TWRP using fastboot, I used power on and up key to boot into TWRP in order to prevent it from overwriting it with the mi-recovery after a reboot but it doesn't work.. every time I select "boot to recovery mode" from MIUI it will always overwrite it with the default recovery again...

It seems that the current version of twrp failed to handle the new MIUI 9.5 series...

It was okay within the MIUI 9.x series prior to the latest 9.5.

So, everyone takes note of the latest twrp / 9.5 issue.

A safe method to boot into TWRP (assuming you have a PC with adb and fastboot drivers installed and bootloader is unlocked) :
Enable USB Debugging in developer options.
Connect your phone to your PC via USB
Go the folder in your PC where you have downloaded the recovery , it should be an IMG file.
Press Shift+Right Click and then Open Command Prompt Here Option.
Issue these commands
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot filename.img

Replace filename.IMG with your recovery img file name. This should boot into a temporary session of the recovery. Once you reboot your phone , your original recovery will be restored.

I did not try twrp updagre to 9.5.2.0 from 9.2.1.0.

I only know about the problem of TWRP/9.5.2.0 when the issue was raised here!

I actauuly did a Miflash/9.5.2.0 Fastboot rom as it is quite a 'big" jump from 9.2 series to 9.5. series of MIUI! I have TitaniumBackup installed. Therefore, no problem restoring App/data in no time!

Technically, the adb commands should work to force-boot into TWRP Recovery.

I observe that notifications from Instagram are always delayed..

Anyway.. under google play device is uncertified?? WTF man... that sucks.. the EU rom doesn't have such issues
